TOSAC PRESENTS MICHAEL MITZVAH DAY
|
JOIN US FOR THE 11TH ANNUAL MICHAEL MITZVAH DAY
Michael Mitzvah day brings together temple members, from children to seniors, to do good deeds and to help those in our community most in need of compassion and support.
DATE: Sunday, March 29, 2015
TIME: 12:30pm-2:00pm
The event will provide community members in need with a hot lunch and dinner to go, access to a "unique boutique" providing free clothing and toiletries, interactive games with prizes and live music. Importantly, it will provide personal interaction in a caring, safe environment.
In addition to the above events that we need volunteers for, there are numerous others way you can get involved to help the temple, the community, and those in need, such as:
-Gardening -Make no - sew fleece blankets
-Beach clean-up -Decorate cards for Jewish soldiers
-Blood drive -Make bunny ice packs
-Decorate bandanas -Make sack lunches
To help us provide you with a better experience you can sign up ahead of time for projects you are interested in at:
http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0d4eaeaf238-michael
It is also not too late to drop off food, gently used shoes/clothing, toiletries and books in specially market buckets at the Temple, located outside of the Tuvia entrance.
The event was conceived in 2005 by Temple members Elaine and Joe Porzucki to honor the memory of their son Michael, who died after a mountain climbing accident in Spain.
Please join us and help heal the world.

Adam Maggid - Bar Mitzvah March 21, 2015
For my Bar Mitzvah project I have chosen to continue my efforts as a volunteer for the Ashe Foundation by providing shoes to those in Africa, many in poverty having been orphaned as a result of war. Over the last few years I have helped organize shoes for shipping as well as participated in an event downtown where I distributed new socks and shoes to the homeless.
Please help me help the Ashe foundation by donating your old and gently used shoes. I will personally come by and collect donations until the end of March in Los Angeles County. Please message Randi Maggid to schedule a pick up or drop off time. In the Beach Cities, donations can be dropped of at Temple Menorah in Redondo Beach.
Thank you for your help!!!

WE WANT TO KNOW...
Should we sell candy in the Temple Judaica Shop?
We have sold candy in the Judaica Shop and sodas in the vending machine to anyone wanting refreshments. Some parents have expressed concern about children buying the candy and sodas. I am interested in your input, so, please fill out the survey at this link: http://goo.gl/forms/l7eCrWuMr0.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Les Latner
