A MESSAGE FROM LES LATNER |
Dear Temple Menorah Community, Over the course of my tenure as President of Temple Menorah, I have been overwhelmed by the number of congregants reaching out to me to share their thoughts, questions and concerns about their Temple Menorah experience. It is through these encounters that I would like to create an opportunity to formally engage you in conversation. I have set-up a series of meeting times for us to sit down and talk with one another. If you are unable to attend a specific time slot based upon your demographic, please feel free to join me at another time - Everyone is welcome. To start the conversation, some of the key issues that I have heard from you have been about volunteerism, merger opportunities and our clergy. The sessions that have been scheduled thus far are: Sunday, December 8th - Sanctuary
| 9:30am |
Conversations with our President for our Religious School Parents
|
Monday, December 9th - Garden Room
| 9:00am |
Conversations with our President for our Tuvia Parents
|
| 10:00am
| Conversations with our President for our RCC Members
| Thursday, December 12th- Garden Room
| 7:30pm |
Conversations with our President for All Members
| I look forward to our continued conversations. Sincerely, Les Latner President |

JOSHUA HOYE'S BAR MITZVAH PROJECT
My name is Joshua Hoye. My Bar Mitzvah will be February 15, 2014. For my Bar Mitzvah project, I have chosen to support the Israeli Guide Dog Center for the Blind located in Beit Ovid, Israel. It is the first Center in the whole nation of Israel for guide dogs My goal is to raise at least $1000 for the Center which will be used to pay for and train a guide dog. I chose this organization because of my desire to do something for Israel and my love of dogs. I also chose this organization because my grandmother is slowly losing her vision so it has extra importance for me.
I am going to hold a bake sale during Religious School on Sunday, December 8, 2013. I would appreciate both donations of baked goods to sell at the sale and your support by buying some of the delicious baked goods at the sale. Noah's Bagels and Starbucks Coffee and Beckers' Bakery in Manhattan Beach have already said they will donate things so there will be lots of good things to eat and drink.
If you prefer not to buy food or want to donate
on-line, you can visit my webpage HERE and make a donation in honor of my Bar Mitzvah.
Thank you.

TORAH REPAIR FUND
Our goal is to accumulate enough money to fix one of the five Torah's, which could cost as much as $2,500 to $3,000.
Once we have one done, we go on to the next. I hope all the children in Tuvia and Sunday School will participate on a regular basis. Nickel, Dimes, or Quarters. Of course folding money is also accepted. If everyone keeps dropping money in the box, we may be able to fix all the Torah's in a years' time.
At this time we have raised $4,392!!
