 A SPECIAL
  ADOPTABLE

Dixon is about 3 months old and is sweet and cuddly. He gets along well with children and other dogs. He is at least part Treeing Walker Coonhound and is pure delight. Adopters need a fenced in yard and a commitment to training for this adorable puppy.

HAPPY ENDINGS!
Petey

Petey was adopted by Dorian Edwin. They happily share life with Trae (also adopted from CGL) in Maine.

Dorian writes: "I just have to tell you how much I love my Petey boy!

He is now in the habit of sleeping with us. Which, I tried to discourage because he sheds SO much worse than Chance and Trae ever did, but he snuggles up to me, tips his head back, and looks so lovingly into my eyes, that I can't make him get off the bed!

This dog is so very loveable.  They all have special qualities.  Trae is just the happiest dog I've ever had. His tail is always going, and except for a brief time after Chance died, I've never seen him look sad. With Petey, it's the love. He just always wants to be snuggled up to someone giving them love.  He adores our grandson, and I think he has a crush on the horse next door. Also, as long as Petey is around, we will NEVER forget where the treat jar is!  He's too funny."
PEANUT

Peanut was adopted by Linda and Chris Baby in 2010.

Chris &Linda wrote us a long note about Peanut, too long to put here, but here is some of what they had to say: We quickly discovered that, at the age of 10 months, Peanut had some significant anxiety around people, especially strangers. We struggled at first, read a lot of things, talked to a lot of people and found a wonderful training studio  with a fantastic owner/trainer.  She instantly recognized the potential in Peanut and in us. We signed up for our first class with Peanut, designed specifically for shy and fearful dogs.

It's taken a lot of work on everyone's part, but Peanut was eventually signed up for a rally trial in October 2013. This sweet dog managed to control his anxiety well enough to earn a Rally Level 1 title! Peanut, who started out terrified of strangers, was disqualified in one of his three runs because he ran out of the ring, right into a crowd of, you guessed it, strangers! Disqualification was a big step forward for this little guy! One of his awards was the Inspiration Award voted on by all the participants!

Editor's Note: Congratulations Peanut and Linda and Chris. You are all an inspiration to us! Peanut is a little dog with a big heart! You can read Chris and Linda's entire letter on our website!
Brody

Brody was adopted by Vicki Harriman of Maine.

Vicki writes: "Took Brody to the coast and walked all around town. In the 2 years I've had him he's gone from run & hide to thinking everyone who passes him wants to visit him. He sits & wants to be patted..... still love him with all my heart..... "

Jessie

Jessie was adopted by the Knight family of Maine in 2011.

Fezzik (was Logan)

Fezzik was adopted by
Erin Donovan of Vermont.

Erin writes: "I wanted to send an update on Logan, who we adopted in February.  We now call him "Fezzik", and he has become a loving, playful, and caring part of our family.  He has also become a great friend and a watchful big brother to our 17-month-old son.  I have attached a recent picture of Fezzik and Seamus playing. Thank you for connecting us with a wonderful companion!"
Coco

Coco was adopted by Helmut and Jan Kohl of Maine.

They write: "We are fast approaching the one year anniversary of the arrival of our precious Coco.  It was Sept 29 last year that you enabled us to welcome this wonderful little girl into our hearts and home.  Words cannot express our gratitude to you for enabling us to have her join our family.  She is the light of our lives."

Scout

Scout was adopted by Stephanie Wolfe of MA.
Chester

Chester was adopted by the Rica Family of MA.

Jim Rica writes:  "I just wanted to touch base.  My wife, daughter, and I adopted Chester from CGL a year and a half ago. Chester loves everyone but has become my little shadow/stalker. He's the sweetest dog ever and people are naturally drawn to him.  He really is my constant companion and travels everywhere with me which seems to attract some attention, so much that Chester has been in local newspapers a couple of times this summer. Chester has quite a few fans (he gets a lot of free stuff... ice cream burgers etc.) so I thought I'd post the pics and videos on a site: Chesterthedog.com
Again thank you so much for connecting me with my boy; he's a really special dog!"

Editor's Note: We knew he was special, Jim, and we knew he would shine in a special family like yours!
