August is always an exciting time of year as we welcome our newest students, and welcome back those undergraduate and graduate students who have been pursuing their degrees at Capitol. In this issue of the Capitol Connector you can find important graduate registration dates, and discover what else has been happening at Capitol.
Important Graduate Registration Dates
Those looking to enroll in one of Capitol's seven master's degree programs or in the doctoral program have until Friday, Aug. 23. Graduate classes will begin on Monday, Aug. 26.

Top 10 Finish for Cyber Team
Cyber LabA team of Capitol College information assurance students finished No. 7 in the Cyber Challenge 2013 sponsored by the MITRE Corporation and the (ISC)2 Foundation last month. More than 65 teams competed in the national capture-the-flag style competition.

 

High school and college students competed in teams of four and challenges focused on stenography, software exploitation, computer forensics, cryptography and networking. The competition lasted for 24 consecutive hours from 3 p.m. on Friday, July 26 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.

Engineering Master's Named "Best Buy"
Best Buy EngineeringCapitol College's online master's engineering program has been named a "Best Buy" by GetEducated.com. The nationwide list, which ranks online engineering programs based on the value they provide students, ranks Capitol at No. 22 in the country.

 

The average cost of an online engineering master's, according to GetEducated.com's comprehensive national ranking survey, is $27,915. Capitol College's program comes in under the average, at $17,070.

Golf Tournament: Next Month!  

Capitol's Sixth Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Turf Valley in Ellicott City, Md., and registration is still open!

 

To secure your space to play, please complete the online registration. You will have the option to register as a foursome, an individual player, or a non-player. The tournament will begin at 9:00am.
