CyberSTEM Camp for Local Students
CBL
Capitol College will be holding a one-week summer program, CyberSTEM, for Maryland high school students looking to learn more about the field of cybersecurity from Aug. 5 through Aug. 9. The five-day commuter camp will feature numerous hands-on activities that focus on various cybersecurity and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) topics.

Other topics that will be covered during the program include: programming, gaming and modeling, digital forensics, system vulnerabilities, cyber ethics, cyber safety, cryptography and project management.

The cost of the program is $200. This fee covers all expenses except daily lunch and transportation to and from Capitol College. For more information and to register, read the full press release.
  Students at NASA Wallops Facility
NASALast month, Capitol astronautical engineering students and faculty members traveled to NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on Virginia's Eastern Shore for "Rocket Week."

Capitol students took part in the RockOn! workshop which was open to 50 university and community college-level participants. During the workshop, students built standardized experiments that were launched on a NASA Terrier-Improved Orion suborbital sounding rocket. The 35-foot-tall rocket flew to an altitude of about 75 miles. After launching the rocket, students conducted preliminary data analysis and they discussed their results.
