A belated Happy Mother's Day to all our wonderful mothers on this planet.
In the past I have told the story about the healing that took place one morning while meditating on Father's Day 15+ years ago. It was very special as you can imagine.
It was a lost memory of a time during my early childhood of my Mother and Father. I must have been two or three years old. It came while I was in mediation, in silence, feeling the presence of God all around me; when this memory flowed through me. It was as if it was being downloaded back into my memory banks.
The scene/memory involved Mom and Dad. A very loving and caring scene in which the both of them showered me in love and attention that healed me on a very deep level.
At that present time of my life, I was in a place of still recovering from my childhood abuse. I had moved past my anger at my parents and was beginning to open my heart and allow in the possibility of understanding. That nothing happens to us, everything happens for us. Not that child abuse is in anyway acceptable, it is not, but because of what happened, it made me into the person I was at that time (and the person I am today). Which was a person who was experiencing love of God, others and self like I haven't before.
For some of us, Mother's Day can be a bittersweet day for many reasons. Each of us has our own experiences in life.
I truly believe that each of us was brought into this world and agreed to play the role of that we are: children of these parents, parents, brothers, sisters of these family member's etc. This comes from my faith and understanding of reincarnation. Through reincarnation we get to continue to work on those very things in life that we get stuck on. Sort of like when you're in a relationship, and there's an issue and you leave. Then you find yourself in another relationship and guess what...that issue, is still there. Now you have to try and work through it with another person...or not.
We get to evolve or not through relationships and through reincarnations until we have come to a place of love, compassion, and peace from within. Not from the outside: but from within our Soul.
Our soul is the God within each of us. The peace, love and compassion comes from "Letting Go and Letting God" be our best friend, our lover, our parents, our brother and sister, on and on. Seeing God in everyone and everything. Honor everyone and everything as God.
So, I'd like to honor each mother as the Goddess she is. Happy Belated Mother's Day to all women, mothers and those who have not born a child. All women are mothers in some form or another. Their love, energy, giving, caring, and their boundless creativity that naturally flows from them into this world, makes it a better place.
Namaste,
Michael
