SPIRIT OF LOVE

For most of us, we think of love as an emotion. And of course, it certainly can be just that. The Bible speaks of four types of love: brotherly love, family love, romantic love and divine love.
We all have had the opportunity in our journey to experience these types of love, knowingly and or unknowingly. The Spirit of Love I will talk about is Divine Love.
If we can understand the concept of Divine Love, then each of the other types of love will be experienced Divinely. Understanding the concept of Divine Love becomes all encompassing, thus spiritualizing. We then enter into the Spirit Of Love.
Due to the fact that this is only a newsletter with weekly additions to the topic in the form of blogs, I need to keep this as simple as possible and my hope is that the message is not watered down.
Lets take the love of a parent for their child as an example. To understand that love is so much more then an emotion. That love does not always look like what we expect it to look like.
A parent would do so much for their little one. We have even heard of stories where a parent will sacrifice himself or herself to save their child from danger. But at the same time, that same parent would punish that child if they are not behaving in a healthy, proper way.
I know I would have put myself before any unexpected danger that could have befallen my children while they were growing up. I do this out of love. Is this love an emotion? Maybe, but it is so much more then an emotion.
I also know, I had to cause them pain (emotional) when I had to punish them for their unacceptable decisions and or actions. Now this punishment obviously did not look like love to them, but as parents we know it to be just that. We did it for the greater good.
Over the past year I have written about rules and or guidelines to follow. These Divine rules and regulations are guidelines to help us enter into the Spirit Of Love. Understanding that these guidelines given to us, will help us understand and absorb this "concept" of Divine Love.
I look forward to hearing comments from you concerning the topics of the weekly blogs.
Namaste,
Michael
