I do hope that everyone is taking in all the wonderful changes that Mother Nature is providing. Over the years, I've been able to "witness" all the changes, allowing me to just watch, not judging them.
When we can come from a place of witnessing the events in life, there is less attachment to the results of these changes, and more appreciation of them just unfolding.
I'm not talking about total disassociation or detachment, like a monk in a monastery or a yogi in the Himalayas. I'm talking about witnessing that there is less color in the foliage this year, or it's colder than usual for fall, or the children's Halloween costumes are different....without making it a good or bad thing. Just witness. Be the observer.
No matter where you are on this planet, there are transformations that accompany the individual changing of the seasons. As we get older, we certainly look at them differently than when we were younger. These changes take on different meaning to us, and as life events happen during these periods, we might associate those changes with the seasonal changes.
But to be sure, the one thing constant in our material world are changes. There is only one thing that will never change, and that is Truth.
Now, I'm taking about "your" truth or "my" truth. Any truth that is subject to change is not the Truth I speak of. The truth that is subject to change is simply someone's "idea" of the truth. When the truth comes from a place of change, guess what? That truth will change as times change.
That truth is known as man-made truth, and it comes from our ego. Ego is not a bad thing here. It's simply something most of us will rely on to give us direction. But the ego has its own agenda, even when it comes from the heart (or rather from a place of wanting to do good). And when we do this "good," remember we believe it's a good thing; we believe we are helping. But are we doing something because we know the Absolute Truth behind it?
Then there is the other side of the ego; that side which, for most of us, blatantly comes from a place of selfish motivation.
What I mean by the ego having its own agenda is that the ego considers itself separate from God, i.e., the Absolute Truth. It's not only people who have egos, but so do companies, communities, and yes, even governments.
We can easily see it in people and companies. An example of communities would be when one community thinks it's better than another; and governments that are based on capitalism first will distort the truth to sell their wares; and socialist and communist governments will distort the truth to sell their propaganda, etc.
Even religions can seem to have egos. But true religions are based on Absolute Truth. What man does to them afterward sometimes does not reflect the Absolute Truth of that religion. It is man that manipulates a religion for his own desire, not God's.
I am just pointing out that unless we are coming from a place of Absolute Truth...unless our principles of life are based on unchanging Truth...we are the same as those who also base their truth on ever-changing principals.
So over the next couple of weeks in my weekly blogs, I will talk about becoming a witness, an observer, as well as living a life based on Absolute Truth, rather than on man-made truth (the truth that is referred to as "my" truth).
Wishing everyone a wonderful, sumptuous and loving Thanksgiving. I am very grateful to all of you who encourage me, help me, and support me along my journey.
Many Blessings,
Michael
