Dear Friends and Family,

I trust everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

Here in the northeast it was a bit hot and humid, but still it's nice to take some time off and spend it with our loved ones.

I'm not one that does a lot of traveling during holiday weekends. I like to stay close to home and just relax, go for a walk, see a movie or two, catch up on a few things around the house or tackle a few things on the infamous "To Do" list.

Liz and I and our families, returned a week ago from our regular couple of weeks on the Jersey shore, which was very nice. Our kids came down as worked allowed, my brothers and one of my sisters came in from around the country with their families. As I get older in this lifetime, I am beginning to really try and slow down and enjoy some of the gifts I have. Not everyone around me will agree that I am slowing down, but I know I do, at least enough to take a breathier and appreciate my gifts.

I want to acknowledge the gift we have in our country's independence. I know we all have our different views about that independence and those differences, and it's also a wonderful thing to be able to experience those differences. To be able to voice our opinion in a peaceful and constructive way is one of the gifts that the 4th of July represents.

Thank you to all who have made that possible.

Enjoy the month of July. Don't forget to appreciate all the gifts you have. And we all do have them, no matter what else is going on in our lives.

Peace & Love,

Michael

Spiritual Independence

People who attend my retreats and others that I work with have asked me many times, "What's the difference between Belief and Faith?"

I'm sure many of you have asked yourselves that same question.

It's a great topic that comes up during religion and spiritual discussions.

What I have been taught from teachers and from within, Self, is that the two are very different.

Belief is brought about from logic, effort, argument and conflict. Belief is something that is more tangible. It really comes from intellect.

When someone says they believe in something, it is usually because something has actually physically happened in their life that has led to a decision for them to have this newfound way of thinking and acting. It comes from intellectual logic.

Faith, on the other hand, could be considered on the other end of the spectrum. Faith is based on intuitiveness. Faith is based on something that you can rarely explain, it is an inescapable inevitability of acceptance that was not there before and cannot be explained.

But Belief and Faith do have something in common. There is a change that comes about to one who experiences faith and to one that who experiences belief. But one is of the temporal nature and one is not.

Someone's belief can and will be shaken or it will change because it is of a nature of change...our intellect. Whereas faith goes beyond this world and is of something that cannot be seen, touched, explained or rationalized. It is of Spirit.

So over the next few weeks, in my weekly Ah-Man Blog Posts, I will talk more on the subject of Spiritual Independence and how to bring it about in your life.

Thank you for all of your time, questions and support.

Peace Be With You.

Namaste,
Michael

UPCOMING SPIRITUAL RECOVERY HALF-DAY RETREATS
MARK YOUR CALENDARS

Spiritual Recovery is all-inclusive and non-sectarian; available to any man or woman, regardless of age. It happens when someone is reconnected to Spirit, allowing one to begin to see things from a different perspective. There's usually a common thread that brings one to seek Spiritual Recovery. That thread is pain: physical, mental or emotional.   On rare occasions, it can be a joyous or spectacular life event that brings one to Spiritual Recovery. But in most cases, it will be life's painful events that we explore.

Let Michael's vast experience guide you in learning how to enrich your journey to Spiritual Recovery during upcoming half-day Spiritual Recovery Retreats.

Whether you're a neophyte beginning a new relationship with your Inner Self or you've already had a Spiritual Awakening/Divine Experience, you'll want to deepen and enhance your experience.

Below is a listing of retreat dates, times and venues. Each session is scheduled for a Saturday from 10am to 2pm. The fee is $25 per person.
