Going Deeper: Trusting in Sacred Conversation
|
This year's Annual Meeting promises to be one of deep meaning, deep conversation, and deep impact on the future of the UCC in Minnesota. Come be a part of this important work.
Join us at the 53rd Annual Meeting of the Minnesota Conference:
June 12-14, 2015 College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph, MN
The theme of "Going Deeper: Trusting in Sacred Conversation" comes out of a resolution adopted at last year's annual meeting, "Dismantling Racism and Creating Diversity in the Minnesota Conference".

Do You Entertain?
|
Following the Saturday evening plenary and worship at the 2015 Annual Meeting, we hope to enjoy entertainment from "our own" - you, that is! We're looking for light, fun entertainment from individuals, choirs, jazz groups, dance, etc. in a cabaret-style setting. Our reception with cash bar and snacks will be held right outside the plenary room. What could YOU bring to enliven the evening?
If interested, email Leslie Amundson of the Annual Meeting Planning Work Group with a short description (type of entertainment, duration, etc.).

Free Trade 101: Why Free Trade is the Opposite of Fair Trade
|
Come and examine the history of U.S. Free Trade Agreements and the forthcoming TPP "fast-track" legislation. Join us as we hear from panelists about the effects of NAFTA and the Colombia Free Trade agreement, including destruction of local economies throughout the Americas, the loss of Minnesotan jobs, mass US migration from Mexico, and violent displacement and labor rights violations in Colombia. We will also examine whether TPP stands for Trans-Pacific Partnership or Trading People for Profits. This is a fully bilingual Spanish-English event.
Tuesday, April 14th at 7pm Mayflower UCC (106 Diamond Lake Rd, Minneapolis)
Sponsored by Witness for Peace, Mayflower's Global Justice Advocacy Team, Minnesota Fair Trade Coalition, and other local justice organizations.
