Mission Bite: 2014 Fall Leadership Retreat

On September 5 & 6, 28 leaders of the MN Conference gathered together for the annual leadership retreat. Entitled, "Forward Together" the retreat focused on enabling the purpose and vision of the Conference into the future. Members of the Board of Directors, chairs or representatives of Conference committees and teams, and Conference staff and Sandy Lindahl, lead consultant for Ackley Consulting Group came to work together while enjoying the beauty and hospitality of Pilgrim Point Camp. United by prayer and worship, retreat participants engaged in energetic, creative and meaningful dialogue and activities.

Joys and Concerns
- Rev. Dr. Peter Bagley, retired minister of United Protestant Church of Morgan Park, Duluth, will be installed as Pastor Emeritus of the church on Sunday, September 14, 10:30am. Rev. Dr. Bagley, who retired in 2012, served the church for 10 years. A reception will follow the service. The church is located at 830 88th Ave W, Duluth.
- Rev. Dr. Dana Mann will be installed as Pastor of First Congregational UCC in Mankato on Sunday, September 14, 4:00pm. Clergy are invited to robe and wear red stoles. Rev. Dr. Mann has served First Congregational since February 2013. The church is located at 150 Stadium Court, Mankato.
- Rev. Trevor Hausske, retired minister of the Minnesota Conference UCC, died on September 7. He served his longest pastorate in New York at Sayville UCC. Following his retirement, he moved to Minneapolis and served as chaplain of Jones-Harrison Residence for ten years. A celebration of Trevor's life will be held on Sunday, September 14 at 3:00pm at First Congregational Church of Minnesota, United Church of Christ, 500 8th Ave SE, Minneapolis. An Ecclesiastical Council for Kathryn Morin will be held Tuesday September 23 at 11a.m. at United Church of Christ in New Brighton (1000 Long Lake Rd.). Voting will be by all clergy with standing and lay delegates from a minimum of seven churches with standing. Notices
 - To churches who have international relationships with overseas churches: A request World Communion Sunday is fast approaching and will take place the first Sunday of October. Global Ministries, a common witness of the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) receives many requests from US churches for materials and resources to share in worship throughout the year. But by far, the most requested time is just prior to World Communion Sunday, this year on October 5. Click here to keep reading.
