Local customers are looking for what you offer - and they're looking online. That's why we're teaming up with Google to host a free workshop to help you and your fellow businesses and organizations get online and on the map. Let's Put Our Cities on the Map is part of Google's Get Your Business Online program and aims to bring community members, business owners, and civic leaders together to help small businesses succeed on the web. In this workshop, participants will learn the ins and outs of searching on Google, and how to use online tools to enhance their website and productivity. Learn how to: * Get "found" on Google Search & Maps * Use free & low cost Google products to increase web traffic * Grow your organization using Google apps! This course is BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop), so if you would like to actively participate please make sure that you bring a fully-charged laptop (charging space is limited). Intermediate computer skills are required.Before the event, you'll need to create a Google Account to access the free online tools. If you already have a Google or Gmail Account, you're all set. Just remember to bring your username and password. If you don't have a Gmail or Google Account, you can create one for free at: accounts.google.com/signup

This series is presented in memory of Charles Smith. Charles passed away on July 16. He was the beloved former department head of the Business, Science & Industry Department for many years. Before his retirement in February, he was the Administrative Librarian and project manager in the Business Resource & Innovation Center.
