Most Americans have a few investments in the U.S. stock market through their employer's retirement plan whether they realize it or not. Investing can often be very difficult to understand. This proven seminar will make investing concepts easy and fun!

This program is presented by Helene Turner. Ms. Turner was an Internal Auditor at Discover Card Company and also served on the Evanston, Illinois Business Investment Council's Technical Advisory Board and approved investments in successful start-ups such as Peapod. She is a partner with the Chicago Federal Reserve's innovative financial literacy program, Money Smart Week.

WordPress 101: Build Your Own Website

During this two-day, interactive course, experienced WordPress instructor Tangalayer Oates will provide an introduction to WordPress website creation.  In no time, you will be on your way to creating a simple and effective site for your business. 


 
We will discuss:

  •  Creating a WordPress account and the various options available (no-cost to low-cost)
  •  Locating, selecting, and uploading themes
  •  How to add different webpages and site elements
  •  How to enhance your overall site using plug-ins

This course is (BYOL) Bring Your Own Laptop, so if you would like to actively participate please make sure that you bring a fully-charged laptop (charging space is limited).  No prior experience with HTML or WordPress is necessary, but you should have intermediate computer skillsTeaching assistants will be unable to help with basic computer skill requests as this is a fast-paced workshop.

There are over 2,000 TED Talks to choose from. Sort by topic and select business to access hundreds of informative and inspirational business and entrepreneurial Talks. New videos are added regularly.

Consider signing up for your favorite business site's RSS feed. Subscribing to a website's RSS removes the need to manually check the website for new content. FeedlyDigg Reader, and My Yahoo are popular RSS readers.
