New Frontier Weekend at Yawgoog June 6-8, 2014 |
Based on our outrageously popular Emergency Prep Weekend, this weekend is geared for new Webelos cross-overs and younger scouts who are working towards their Tenderfoot, Second Class, or First Class requirements. It is also a good opportunity for Troops to get new Scouts acquainted with Camp before the Summer rolls around.
This event will coincide with the Yawgoog Open House, so parents are welcome to stop by for the day to visit the camp while their son participates in the activities.
Participants may come as individuals, patrols, or troops. Troops can camp the entire weekend, if you are signing up as an individual (without your troop) you can arrive on Saturday morning 8:30am and the program will run until 5pm.

National Youth Leader Training
June & August 2014 |
National Youth Leadership Training is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide your key youth with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home Units. Today's NYLT syllabus incorporates the latest in leadership ideas and presents fresh, vital, and meaningful training for today's Scouts.
The NYLT course centers around the concepts of what a leader must BE, what he must KNOW, and what he must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the week as the team goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership.
This year two course will be offered: Camp Cachalot in June and Camp Yawgoog in August

Camp Scholarships are Available
|
Camping and other outdoor activities are an essential part of Scouting. Indeed, it is impossible to enjoy the full benefits of the Scouting program without attending Cub Scout Day Camp, Cub Resident Camp, Webelos Resident Camp, and Boy Scout Summer Camp!
We feel so strongly about the outdoor program that we have made a commitment that no young person will be denied a camp experience due to financial constraints. To that end, the Narragansett Council has established a Campership Fund to assist our Scouting families.
Applications are being accepted now. If you have a need, please apply, or pass this along to someone who may need a little help getting to camp.
