Hundreds of Local Scouts Participated in School Vacation Programs
As usual, our local school Spring Break week Was been filled with all kinds of Scouting opportunities and activities for our youth. Several hundred local Scouts have been involved in a multitude of merit badge workshops where we have partnered with local organizations, such as:
- Inventing Merit Badge, in partnership with The Center for Dynamic Learning
- American Heritage Merit Badge, on the Battleship Massachusetts in Battleship Cove
- Salesmanship Merit Badge, under the tutelage of our Scout Shop Sales Staff
- Oceanography Merit Badge, in partnership with Save the Bay

And in addition, our Council organized and sent out another 50 miler Backpacking Crew this week, for the second year in a row. Starting in the Burlingame State Park, the crew spent the week winding it's way across Rhode Island while stopping at high adventure program camps each night that we created. The week culminated as they arrive at Camp Yawgoog on Sunday, having completed 50 miles of hiking and adventure, as well as the completion of the BSA's 50 Miler Award.
