On July 13th the Narragansett Council sent 4 troops and venture crew, totaling 153 Scouts and 17 leaders to the National Jamboree at the Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia.
Prior to their arrival at the Summit, they took a two day tour of Washington D.C., stopping at the Smithsonian, the Washington Monument, and even a tour of the Capitol Hill. After the tour of D.C. they headed for West Virginia to be a part of nearly 30,000 Scouts and leaders to experience the first ever National Jamboree at the Summit. Once there, they had a unique opportunity to participate in High Adventure events like whitewater, climbing, zip lines, mountain biking, and much, much more.. After the Jamboree, the troops headed north to spend a day at a water park to relax before the final stretch home.
