 Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner
Celebrating the Eagle Class of 2012/2013
Eagle Dinner

Eagles will be sponsored by and have an opportunity to meet with some outstanding people engaged in industry, business, or a profession in our community. Each Eagle will be matched with his sponsor and be seated with that person for dinner.

We are very fortunate to have Lt. Col. James G. Zumwalt as our guest speaker this year. Lt. Col. Zumwalt is a veteran of the Vietnam War, the invasion of Panama and the first Gulf War. He is also the son of the former Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Elmo Zumwalt. Lt. Col. Zumwalt is broadly published on both military and foreign affairs.

Family members are welcome to attend the dinner, however, family will be seated separately to give the Eagle Scout and Sponsor the opportunity to interact. The sponsor will be covering the cost of the Eagle Scout's meal..

Cub/Webelos Chuckwagon Derby at Cachalot: May 18

Boy Scouy Spring Camporee at Champlin May 17-19

Webelos in action

At Chuckwagon Cubs compete for ribbons at stations that test traditional Cub Scout skills as well as stations that are just for fun. Each Cub Scout Den will load all of their gear on a wagon and travel from station to station.

The theme of the Boy Scout Camporee is "A Knight to Remember". From the times of legend we have heard tell of Heroes, men and women who have championed the cause of Justice and Honor. From the time of King Arthur, there have been the Knights of the Round Table, where all were equal. A sample of the Knight's code may have parts that look familiar to a Scout. Join us in celebrating 100 years of "Knights" in America!

Cub Day Camp
July-August 2013

Day Camp

Day Camp is a great way for your son to experience the thrill of the outdoors and is a good introduction to independence from Mom & Dad without being to far from home.

The week long program fills each day with adventure and the experiences for which boys join Scouting. Activities include archery, BB, Boating, Swimming, crafts, and many more. All Day Camps offer extended hours for families whose schedule doe not fit into the 9AM to 4PM timne frame.

Day Camps are geographically located throughout the Narragansett Council for the convenience of Scouting families. Each week offers a different theme to keep the excitement going all summer long. Scouts may attend any week at any location, just choose what fits your schedule.

Back again is our always popular Second Week, Half Price Special. Also, new for 2013 we have added STEM Week (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) the first week of July, so now you can enjoy camp every week of the summer at Camp Champlin.

Summer Camp Open Houses

May - June, Various Dates

Mom and Me

Mom & Dad we know you have a lot of questions about Summer Camp, especially if it will be your son's first time at Day Camp or Sleepaway Camp.

Our Open houses are a great way for you and your family to take a look at the camp, see where your son will be sleeping, eating and participating in activities.

You'll have plenty of time to meet the Camp Directors and Staff. We'll have some activities planned and have lunch. If you're still undecided about sending your son to Camp then come by the open house!
