Happy Thanksgiving from the Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America

As Thanksgiving approaches and I reflect on the six months since my family and I arrived in Rhode Island I certainly have much to be thankful for. Of course, then there is my "other" family, the dedicated staff, volunteers, parents and youth that make up our Narragansett Council Scouting family. Perhaps it's our Scouting Family we can all be most thankful for.

I am thankful for the dedication and hard work of all our parents and volunteers, who deliver the promise of Scouting to thousands of young people every week. I am thankful for our benefactors from throughout the years whose vision and wisdom have left us with such a wonderful Council. I am thankful for our eight camps and the tireless efforts of all those who work to constantly maintain and improve them. I am thankful for having a dedicated and hard-working Council Staff.

Perhaps most of all I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the thousands of young people of our Council as we teach them the timeless values instilled in the Scout Oath and Law.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving join me in taking a moment to reflect upon all we have to be thankful for.

Warmest regards to you and your family,
