I am now walking early in the mornings here in Virginia. By mid-day we are well into the 90s with humidity to match. But the early mornings are still glorious and the heat of the day is igniting all of nature.

In the warmth of this time of year many people find themselves opening to more of life. In Chinese medicine this is the season of the element of fire which ignites our senses, catalyzes projects and creative endeavors. Fire is essential for passion. For many people, it is what makes life feel worth living. When someone's "fire has gone out", we think of depression, lack of motivation or will to live.

I always look forward to teaching summer classes.
