A silent breeze of spring is drifting through an open door
And everything worth having feels renewed. *
As spring unfolds before me, proof of how the earth renews itself is everywhere - the vibrant greens of budding tree leaves throughout the forest, plant shoots pushing up through the hard cold ground, splashes of color across the forest floor, as though someone was preparing for a celebratory event.
I noticed recently that I have felt something deep in me, pushing up through my consciousness like a green shoot pushing through the cold, hard ground of early spring. I can feel an inner struggle against some kind of resistance. Perhaps the energy of winter is whispering, "stay cocooned-rest a little longer" as it tries to lull me into complacency. And yet, this morning I felt an unmistakable urge to get going - get out and breathe deeply in the cool, crisp air, drinking in the rainbow of colors in the tree buds and the rich golden yellows of the daffodils.
Spring is a time that I renew and celebrate my daily practices, allowing that quickening to be rekindled deep within me. My resistance melted away this morning as I made time for a walk around the lake to start my day. It was glorious out there! Committing to walking everyday for the rest of the week just got immeasurably easier. I am riding the quickening, feeling the emergence of that inner green shoot that signals spring's return within me.
So take a moment and think about what practices you have that feed your Soul. Ones that help you rejuvenate yourself. Spring is the time of renewal on so many levels:
What physical practices do you want to renew?
What spiritual practices are calling to you? Emotional Practices such as keeping a gratitude journal, and making a point to appreciate those around you who support and love you - these are wonderful things to renew in spring.
Thank you all for being in my life - taking in my words and workshops and blog posts and supportive products. My life feels very full and rich as we round the curve of spring. Come and play with me somewhere this year - in whatever way works best for you. There are many new places and opportunities. Read on to hear about it all. And, enjoy!
Sincerely,
