December 2012
A Blessing to Brighten Your Holidays
|
Greetings!
In this season of longer nights and shorter days,
In this time of gathering with those we love,
With a desire to open our hearts,
May we remember to lean into each other,
Connecting more deeply and vulnerably.
May the strength that comes out of showing our true colors
Carry us into the Holiday Season
Riding the waves of family and friends,
Old traditions and new ones that feed our souls,
May we remember the Love that is at the heart of it all,
Love of God, Self and Others
May we be hugged, loved and set free
To be more of who we are in the New Year.
In Gratitude and Love,
Suzanne and the entire Healing From the Core staff

You shared your Love, your Grief, and your Support with Suzanne through your comments, your emails, your phone calls.
Below, remember again and continue to honor with us the Life and the Contributions of Dr. John Upledger. Thank You Dr. Upledger (Feb 10) "Today is Dr. John Upledger's 80th birthday - and I want to thank him for mentoring me for so many years and teaching me most of what I know about dialoguing with the human body - my own and those of all my clients." On the Passing of Dr. John Upledger (Oct 27) "It was not unexpected, and yet I felt a deep wave of sadness wash over me for the loss to the planet in his leaving. His footprint, his impact on the healthcare world is so huge that it would take days of blogging to write it all. Everywhere I turn in my life he has had an impact." Thank You Dr. John - Paradigm Shifter (Oct 28) "My journey with Dr. John began in the spring of 1983, when he came to Washington D.C. to teach CranioSacral I at PMTI"...

Suzanne Scurlock-Durana, C.M.T, C.S.T.-D

For more than twenty five years Suzanne has taught and mentored in the area of conscious awareness and its relationship to the healing process. She has developed a unique approach to energy, presence, grounding and integrative exercises taught beautifully in the Healing From the Core program, which includes a six level training series and a complementary audio series. All of this is based on her years of experience helping fellow healthcare practitioners hold a healing space for themselves, as well as developing their own therapeutic presence for clients and patients. She is passionate about teaching people practical skills that allow them to feel the joy of being present in each moment of their lives, without burning out. To that end, she published the book and companion audio, Full-Body Presence.
Since 1986 she has been a certified instructor of CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release with The Upledger Institute, teaching both nationally and internationally. She is also on the faculty at Esalen Institute, and provides ongoing staff development training there, as well as collaborating regularly with Emilie Conrad, integrating Continuum movement and healing presence.
Known for her honest, grounded, nurturing manner, Suzanne assists others in going to the heart of their healing process. She is adept at weaving together mind, body, and spirit to create a unique environment where profound healing can occur. To accomplish this, she draws on her wealth of experience as a professional, teacher and therapist, a wife and mother, and generously shares from all areas of her life.
A sought-after speaker in her field, Suzanne inspires healthcare practitioners, coaches, teachers and care-givers all over the world to stay energized using her life-changing tools for stress management and full-body presence. She also has authored numerous articles, and thousands visit her popular blog, Presence Matters: Reflections on Body, Mind and Spirit at http://massagemag.com/massage-blog/presence-matters. She has a private practice in Reston, VA where her clients also benefit from the techniques she teaches. .
