"Retailer of the Year" - Pilgrim's Market wins National Award 

 
Exciting news for our community! Locally owned Pilgrim's Market in Coeur d'Alene was recently named "Retailer of the Year" in the category of Innovation at Natural Foods Expo East. Pilgrim's was selected from more than 19,000 other independent and chain natural food stores across the country.What impressed the judges was three distinctive innovations: Tapping into medical knowledge (as can be seen with their team of health professionals to help shoppers, and the Medical Advisory Board, which  enriches the store's relationship with the medical community); Full-Service Integrative Clinic (Pilgrim's Wellness Clinic is located in the store and boasts naturopathic, acupuncture, osteopathic, dietetic, ayurvedic, mental health and massage practitioners, many accepting medical insurance); and Health Education Center (the 2,000-square-foot facility is home to lectures and community education initiatives, offering a variety of speakers from well-known authors to local doctors. Saturday, Sept. 27th ~ Spokane Symphony SuperPops The King: The Music of Elvis, Spokane  

 
Elvis Presley was the King ... and he changed American music forever. Kick off a fun and fabulous SuperPops season with a thrilling performance of Elvis's greatest hits, such as "Heartbreak Hotel," "Love Me Tender," "Don't Be Cruel," "Hound Dog" and more, with a full symphony orchestra.This is not an impersonator show but features four Broadway veteran singers in a "Jersey Boys" style performance of Elvis's greatest hits with a new twist, shake, rattle and roll! Sat. Sept. 27th ~ 4th Annual Touch a Truck: Climb, Explore, Learn, Touch! Spokane 

 
This Saturday, 9am to 2pm, head to the Spokane Community College Parking Lot for a fun day filled with big trucks and other activities at the 4th Annual Touch a Truck event. Kids and adults alike can explore big trucks (emergency vehicles, constructions trucks, buses, utility trucks), kids can enjoy other activities such as face painting, bouncy castle and local mascots, and there are information booths for all to take advantage of as well. Tickets are $5 per person (kids 2 and younger are free), or $4 when you bring a can (or more) of food to donate to the Salvation Army.

Fall is finally here! That means it's Apple Festival time on the Bluff! Every weekend through October 26th, Greenbluff's popular Apple Festival offers a large variety of the best cooking apples, plus fresh-pressed cider and other produce. There's live music, craft booths, corn and straw mazes, and great food for the whole family to enjoy.

OKTOBERFEST FUN!

Fri. Sept. 26th & Sat. Sept. 27th ~ Downtown Coeur d'Alene Oktoberfest 

 
This is a fun-filled weekend complete with the Gran Fondo biking event, live entertainment, German food and the very best of the harvest brews! Event hours are 4 to 9pm Friday and 1 to 8pm Saturday. Sampling venues include The Plaza Shops, All Things Irish, Velvet Hanger, Christmas by the Lake, and the Main Tent area at the corner of Second and Sherman. There will be live music by Native Sun 5 to 8pm Friday, The Coeur d'Alene Big Band 1 to 4pm Saturday, and Shiner 5 to 8pm Saturday. The last Saturday of September each year, the Daanen's parking lot fills with lederhosen-clad, stein-toting nosh enthusiasts for the largest party in Hayden-Oktoberfest! The festivities are centered around German foods and bier (beer)! This celebration is a free, family friendly community event held in a secure and happy environment for all ages. You will find great food, microbrews, live traditional music and fun beer-based competitions for adults, along with games and activities for children.

ArtStyle Northwest Studio Tour, Art Sale and Artful Living Experience will be held Saturday, September 27th, 10am to 6pm at Little Spokane River Valley.
