Wines by the Yards Tasting, presented by the Spokane Winery Association, is tonight at Kendall Yards' The Nest! Downtown Coeur d'Alene Artwalk is tomorrow, as well as Pilgrim's Small Vineyard Italian Wine Tasting. The annual Coeur d'Alene Triathlon is this Saturday. And the Third Annual Wallace Accordion Festival is this weekend, Friday through Sunday. Reserve your seat and learn to cook Artisan Pizza at The Kitchen Engine cooking class Tuesday. And ... Sat. Aug. 9th ~ Coeur d'Alene Triathlon 

 
This weekend Coeur d'Alene hosts its 31st Coeur d'Alene Triathlon. The event includes the traditional Olympic distance swim at 1.5K, and the Sprint distance, 500 yards swim, both taking place at Independence Point on Lake Coeur d'Alene. The bike courses follow Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive, with Olympic distance triathlon riders and Duathlon riders going the full 40K, the race leads to Mullan Trail Road for a challenging uphill course. The run courses include a 5k and 10k, with finish line at Coeur d'Alene City Park. An after-race barbecue will be hosted by Texas Roadhouse with a beer garden hosted by Selkirk Abbey Brewery. Athletes 21 and older will receive a complimentary craft beer and commemorative race mug.

Fri. Aug. 8th ~ Downtown Coeur d'Alene Artwalk 

 
Grimes & Horswill Exhibit at The Art Spirit Gallery This Friday evening, 5 to 8pm, stroll the streets of Downtown Coeur d'Alene and enjoy artwork at local galleries, with exhibits by both local and nationally acclaimed artists. This month's participating venues include: CdA Art Association, Blackwell Gallery, Summers Glass and Beads, Coeur d'Alene Galleries, Gallery Northwest, Painters Chair, The Art Spirit Gallery, Angel Gallery of Fine Art and Antiques, and Studio 107. The Art Spirit Gallery (located at 415 Sherman Ave.) will be featuring the works of Robert Grimes and Michael Horswill August 8th through
September 6th, with opening reception
being held during Artwalk.

Festival at Sandpoint 2014 kicks off tonight with The Head and the Heart with Mikey and Matty, and continues through August 17th with performances by: Huey Lewis and the News with Miah Kohal Band; Nickel Creek with Head for the Hills and Pear; Family Concert: "Musical Magic"; Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue with Special Guest Galactic; Ray LaMontagne with The Belle Brigade; Montgomery Gentry with Wade Bowen and Chris Webster and Nina Gerber; and Grand Finale Concert "Solo Spotlight" with the Spokane Symphony, Maestro Gary Sheldon and soloists Earecka Tregenza (harp), Mateusz Wolski (violin), Amy Craven, Jon Brownell and Steven Mortier. This weekend welcomes another great Historic Wallace Accordion Festival! This year they are pleased to welcome the Spokane Accordion Ensemble as the Friday night concert at the Nite Rock Events Center. Saturday evening features Canadian musician extraordinaire Michael Bridge for a concert and dance, also at Nite Rock. During the three-day event there will also be the traditional Saturday morning Celebration Parade, workshops, gazebo music and the second annual youth competition.
