Everywhere you turn, athletes are swarming the streets of Coeur d'Alene this week for the annual Ironman, taking place this Sunday; and in Spokane, basketball players and fans are gathering to participate in the annual two-day Spokane Hoopefest happening Saturday and Sunday. Other events include Sandpoint's Summer Sampler, Summer Salads Cooking Class with Chef Columba at The Culinary Stone, Murder Mysteries on the Patio with Coeur d'Alene Cellars, and the kick off to Merry Cellars Concert Series in Pullman. There's something new in Downtown Coeur d'Alene, and it's ready to rock your socks off. The Rocker Room Rock 'n' Roll Sports Bar just opened last weekend (formerly The Country Bar). Sun. June 29th ~ Coeur d'Alene Ironman
 The annual Ironman Coeur d'Alene is this Sunday, bringing in more than 2,000 athletes from around the world to compete in this challenging race, participating in a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike course and 26.2-mile run. Sat. June 28th ~ 2014 Summer Concert Series at Merry Cellars, Pullman
This Saturday kicks off the 2014 Summer Concert Series at Merry Cellars in Pullman with local singer/songwriter Andru Gomez. Dinner for the evening will feature Pork Tenderloin with a morel mushroom reduction. Tickets are $20 in advance and may be purchased on or before June 26th by calling the winery at (509) 338-4699. Tickets will be $30 thereafter. Season passes are available for $100. The first four concerts start at 6pm, the last two begin at 5pm.

Fri. June 27 ~ Murder Mysteries on the Patio at CdA Cellars
Coeur d'Alene Cellars is offering something new and exciting this summer: Murder Mysteries on the Patio. CDA Murder Mystery Theatre is a little bit of traditional theatre mixed with a dinner party atmosphere. Characters are introduced, a murder occurs, questions and clues arise, the audience has a chance to guess who dunnit, and the mystery is eventually solved. Audience members watch scenes performed by experienced actors interspersed with sessions of the evening during which the characters mingle amongst the crowd. This Friday's murder mystery is The Mafia Murders, 6 to 9pm. Tickets are $35 per person, $30 for Wine Club. Ticket price includes drink and appetizer. Sat. July 19th ~ 5th Annual SpoKenya Run/Walk
 Saturday, July 19th, marks the 5th Annual SpoKenya Run/Walk, a race for clean water. Participants can run or walk the 7k loop (4.3 miles), and jogging strollers are welcome. The race takes off at Life Center Church at 9am. SpoKenya expo and packet pick-up Friday, July 18th, 3 to 7pm and Saturday, July 19th, 7 to 8:30am. Registration is $20 and closes on July 13th.
