We've found a few special on-goings over the next week that are sure to interest many of you! The biggest event of the weekend is the annual three-day ArtFest in Browne's Addition. This Saturday is the Copper River "Feast for a King" Wine Dinner at Beverly's; Northwest Opera presents its last two shows of Orpheus in the Underworlds; Lake City Playhouse presents Love Letters (only four showings, so get those tickets before they're sold out!); Cooking Classes at The Culinary Stone in Coeur d'Alene; there's the Science, Symphony and Sweets event at the Palouse Science Center in Pullman; and be sure to stop in at the Steam Plant for its Furrst Friday Event, a week from tomorrow, to benefit area animal shelters. Wandering Table opens its Doors Today! 

 
Chef Adam Hegsted has done it again! After opening the very successful Yards Bruncheon just last month, his second restaurant, Wandering Table, is open to the public starting today! Guests will enjoy meals inspired by the season, made with seasonal, local ingredients. Adam and his staff's goal was to create one of the most interesting and unique dining experiences in the Inland Northwest.

Thurs. May 29th - Sat. May 31st ~ Lake City Playhouse presents Love Letters

 
Don't miss Ellen Travolta and Jack Bannon in Love Letters by A. R. Gurney, and support two of your favorite causes at one event! Love Letters is a joint benefit for Lake City Playhouse and the Coeur d'Alene Public Library Foundation. There will only be four performances, so purchase your ticket today! Fri. May 30th - Sun. June 1st ~ Artfest in Browne's Addition 

 
Artfest is Spokane's premier fine arts festival since 1986! Artfest 2014, held in Browne's Addition's historic Coeur d'Alene Park, invites you to explore more than 150 of the area's most talented artisans offering juried fine art, hand-crafted products and pre-packaged gourmet foods. Find everything from stunning sculptures and spectacular paintings to one-of-a-kind jewelry, ceramics and more.  Food booths, and art-making tent for kids, live musical performances and a wine and beer garden (open until 10pm Friday and Saturday) round out the three-day event. Event hours are noon to 10pm Friday, 10am to 10pm Saturday, and 10am to 5pm Sunday.

Sat. June 7th ~ Science, Symphony and Sweets at the Palouse Discovery Science Center in Pullman

 
The Washington Idaho Symphony presents Science, Symphony and Sweets Saturday, June 7th. Experience how music works with the Washington Idaho Symphony at this exciting event at the Palouse Discovery Science Center! Listen and interact with members of the Washington Idaho Symphony while enjoying the cool, hands-on science displays of the Palouse Discovery Science Center and tasty treats brought to you by Sweet Mutiny Froyo and Cupcakes of Pullman.
Children of all ages along with adults are invited to learn about classical music and enjoy this interactive learning experience! There will be terrific music, great treats and some fun free musical give-aways that you can take home and enjoy. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children (kids 2 and younger are free), and are only available at the door.

Fri. May 30th & Sat. May 31st ~ Northwest Opera presents Orpheus in the Underworld 

 
Northwest Opera's 4th season opened just this past weekend with the comedy Orpheus in the Underworld, sung in English. Upcoming show dates and times are as follows: Friday May 30th at 7:30pm, and Saturday May 31st at 2pm. Performances are at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door. COOKING CLASS

Tues. June 3rd ~ Gourmet Appetizers and Lighter Faire at The Culinary Stone in Coeur d'Alene 

 
Gourmet Chef David Adlard is back by popular demand at The Culinary Stone to help students create the perfect menus for their summer dinners and cocktail parties. The class starts at 5:30pm. He will be back again Thursday, June 5th, to teach Breakfast with Bang, sharing his secrets to creating gourmet breakfasts that your guests will love. Sat. May 31st ~ Copper River "Feast for a King" Wine Dinner at Beverly's in Coeur d'Alene 

 
This Saturday at 6pm, Beverly's at the Coeur d'Alene Resort will be hosting its 10th Annual Copper River "Feast for a King" Wine Dinner starting at 6pm, featuring eight courses and six wines. Chef Ty Schwenk and Sommelier Eric Cook have dug into the cellar to pull out the best pairings of red wines from Spain to Oregon to Burgundy and Piedmont to match dishes such as Copper King Curry Ravioli and Salt and Pepper King Filet.
