Chef Don Leonard now at Ambrosia, Spokane Valley!
This just in... Chef Don Leonard will be taking over the kitchen at Ambrosia Bistro in early May. Chef Leonard, an Eastern Washington native, has been a major force in the Spokane culinary scene for a number of years. Owner/operator of the Catcher-in-the-Rye Pub in Coeur d'Alene City Park in the nineties, he moved to Portland to work with James Beard award winning chef Greg Higgins at his eponymously named restaurant Higgins, and at the world famous Horse Brass Pub. Relocating to Seattle, he was Sous Chef at Atlas Foods in the U-District and The Pink Door in Pike's Place Market. Upon returning to Spokane, Chef Leonard held the Sous Chef at the Davenport Hotel, Latah Bistro, and Italia Trattoria, as well as heading the kitchen at Central Food in Kendall Yards. According to owners Scott and Kara Cook, "Chef Don brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Ambrosia, as well as a passion for his craft. We can't wait to see what he does with the food and the menu." Neither can we at the Sizzle office! We are fans and have been following Don throughout his time in Spokane.
