For the chef in you, register for The Culinary Stone's Italian Soups Cooking Class being held Tuesday, or their Secrets for Making Salsa Class a week from today, next Thursday. Knipprath Cellars teams with Priest River Hardwood Grill as part of the Winemakers Dinner Series Wednesday.

Fri. Jan. 3rd ~ First Friday Artwalk in Downtown Spokane
 Enjoy evenings full of drawings, paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, photography and more through the diverse locations of downtown 5 to 8pm this Friday. Explore downtown to find live performances from music, dance and theatre, as well as excellent food and shopping at various art galleries, wineries, restaurants and shops. First Friday is not only for adults; the kids will enjoy it, too. Barili Cellars, located at 608 W. Second St., in conjunction with First Friday, will be pouring two of their latest releases, the 2012 Viognier and the port-style Liquorosso, along with other favorites. Drop in between 3 and 8:30pm during Downtown Spokane's First Friday festivities and taste six wines from around the world for only $10. You will taste Franciscan Chardonnay, CA; Ruggeri Corsini Bianco, Italy; Sinclair Estate Vineyard Chardonnay, WA; Shooting Star Zinfandel, CA; Kyra Cabernet Sauvignon, WA; and Secco Bertani Verona, Italy. Wed. Jan. 8th ~ Winemakers Dinner Series at Priest River Hardwood Grill
Hardwood Grill hosts the fourth annual Winemakers Dinner Series, and this month they are featuring Spokane's Knipprath Cellars. Enjoy an evening of fine food and wine in a communal dinner party setting. Held the first Wednesday of the month, the winemaker showcases their wine, introducing four wines of their choosing to their guests. The wines are paired with a four-course menu. Dinner is $35 per person. Seating starts at 6pm, with dinner served at 6:30pm. For reservations, call (208) 448-4489.
