Dorland, Atanassova, Enright, Silcox, and Milroy: Five Perspectives, One Stunning Exhibition
Join us for a moderated discussion panel examining the renewed interest of contemporary artists in the practice of oil painting on Saturday, December 14 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.The panel features artist Kim Dorland, McMichael Chief Curator Katerina Atanassova, renowned cultural journalist Robert Enright, and David Silcox of Sotheby's Canada. Art critic, Sarah Milroy, will moderate.

A Dose of Drama
The McMichael welcomes two renowned acting troupes to the gallery this winter. Performances are included with gallery admission.
On Sunday, November 24 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, the Canadian Opera Company will perform The Brothers Grimm - the story of two comical brothers as they gather fairy tales, including Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rumpelstiltskin. For over twenty years, the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio has delighted children with operas adapted specifically for young audiences.
On Sunday, December 8 from 2:30 to 3:30 pm, the Humber River Shakespeare Company will present their original production of Dickens' holiday classic, A Christmas Carol, in period costumes designed by Dora Award Nominee, Nina Okens.
Visitors can also take part in seasonal art activities running throughout the day. Enjoy a full day of art and culture with your family this holiday season!

EXCITING NEWS FOR TOM THOMSON FANS!

The gallery is currently displaying the largest selection of Tom Thomson paintings in its recent history. Over forty paintings are now on view as part of the special exhibition You Are Here: Kim Dorland and the Return to Painting and the permanent collection installations.
Visitors can also see a number of works by Emily Carr, whose paintings of the West Coast are featured in the installation Dialogue and Divergence.
