Are You Kidding Me? Part II
There are many who believe that if you only have enough faith, whatever your problem, it will vanish. Does this mean that someone who has ultimate faith in Jesus Christ will not experience death? Or does this mean that we are misinterpreting what the verse about having faith "as a mustard seed" really means?
And now I read (Christianity Today, November, 2013), that 48% of all evangelical/fundamentalist/born-again Christians believe that "serious mental illness can be overcome through prayer and Bible study alone." Does this mean that if you continue to suffer from mental illness you don't have faith or that you aren't spending enough time studying the Bible? Nonsense! This is just another example, of which there are far too many, of bad religion.
Many suffer from the cruel and tormenting pain of mental health. To suggest that it is their fault because they don't have enough faith is cruel. That's my opinion - what's yours?
