Baptismal Vows As you know, the Reformers took the idea of 'godparents' and make it corporate - we are all the 'godparents' for all the children in our congregation. When a child is baptized, everyone makes a promise on behalf of that child; it takes a congregation to raise healthy and mature Christians. Recently, we have celebrated the confirmation of sixteen of our youth, have awarded the Bird Scholarship to Joe Wester, due in no small part to his outstanding service to Faith during his teen years, and have honored our high school graduates. So, perhaps this is a good time to again stress that we all have a stake in our youth - we have all made a promise to God on their behalf. Chances are that we will never be elected president, write the great American novel, stop pollution, or find a cure for cancer - but one thing we can do, we can be an effective parent. And if we don't have children, we can become involved with the children and youth ministry at the church - buying tickets to support their activities, helping with Vacation Bible School (June 3-7), and keeping them in our daily prayers. On behalf of all the children and youth at Faith - thank you for keeping your promise to God!
In faith,

Pastor Tim
