Thank you to everyone who pledged to Growing Faith during yesterday's worship service. If you have not yet made a pledge, I encourage you to do so this week! The Session will have a special meeting Monday, March 4, to determine the next steps based upon the pledge amount. We have a unique opportunity to serve Christ in our growing community.
Those who are new to Faith may not realize that Growing Faith is the third and final phase to develop our church campus. The program grew out of Long Range Planning which determined that Cape Coral, Lee County, and Faith church would grow - how could we be proactive and invite and welcome people to our faith community?
Phase One, began in 2004, enabled us to purchase nine building lots, three duplexes, a single home and a five- plex. The single home-now the 'green house' was used by the youth group until it outgrew the space; today, our youth activities, as well as our food ministry, We Care, are housed in the five-plex while the "green house" is used for storage. The other properties were used for additional parking.
Phase Two included the building of the Faith Center, the maintenance building, and our parking lot.
The cost from Phase One and Two was $7 million; we have $1.13 million debt remaining. Currently, we have a swap contract loan that expires in approximately three years. Each month, we make a payment of $7,131 plus .345% interest. The goal of Growing Faith is $2.9 million - $1.8 for construction and the remainder to eliminate this debt.
And yes, yesterday we received 34 new members! Faith continues to grow and be a welcoming community of faith. Thanks be to God!
