A Recap of 2013 for Louise Reichlin & Dancers/ LA C&D
Another very full year for us (our 34th), included a tour to New York showcasing The Patchwork Girl of Oz and repertory at Jazz at Lincoln Center, residencies with many school districts, including the LAUSD, ABC, Los Nietos, and the charter district ICEF where this semester we taught four classes a day. Our after school programs have continued through our own grants and LA's Best and we currently teach eight classes a week in elementary schools in partnership with them. Our matching education grant from the Department of Cultural Affairs/City of Los Angeles (DCA) needs a match, and we are thrilled that we received matching grants from both DCA and the California Arts Council for the annual San Pedro
TriArt Festival we produce (this year with 19 companies, all the professional ones receiving an honorarium for the first time) and we will continue that project again in 2014. Our organizational grant from Los Angeles County Arts Commission could also use a match. We have not yet done our annual paper newsletter, but if you missed last season's it is on line at www.LAChoreographersAndDancers.org (click on News at the top, when there, on Newsletters in the left column.

When we totaled our workshops and performances for the 2012-2013 season, even we were surprised that we had worked with 27,509 children last year, with a total 30,770 of all ages. After the actual premiere of "Tap Dance Widows Club" at the Miles in Nov. 2012, we also presented an excerpt at the Western Arts Alliance booking conference in Los Angeles in August (we were also co-producer on this), as well as repertory at festivals including the Lummis Day Festival for the second year, Friends/Family/Dance Festival, and our own TriArt Festival (producer and dance director), which we were to expand to include three preview performances at different locations in San Pedro this year. And the numbers grew on the free So Cal Dance Directory we publish, now linking 564 professional dance organizations in the southland.

Our next event (besides many school activities) is the showcasing of Tap Dance Widows Club (The Baggage Project) in New York in January (back to that initial request again), and we are also invited to be part of the Youth and Family showcase at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater with The Patchwork Girl of Oz and again at Booking Dance Festival NYC at Jazz At Lincoln Center with The Tennis Dances.

Special Thanks to our Supporters

Special thanks to you for your support!
Please continue to contribute and consider raising the amount if you are able. The California Arts Council, The Los Angeles County Arts Commission and DCA City of Los Angeles grants are all matching grants, and went towards the TriArt Festival in September.
Our school activities funded by Don Knabe's Educational Partnership Grant need matching funds. We also have another matching grant form DCA City of LA for 2 schools in the Valley.

Until January 31 please help with our Tap Dance Widows Club Project here. After that, please visit our web site to donate. Thank you so much to our current supporters!!
