Louise Reichlin, Producer and Dance Director,

This year, as last, our partners include Alvas/ Matt Lincir, Spirit Cruises and Ports O'Call Restaurant/ Jayme Wilson, LA County District 4/Don Knabe Supervisor, and LA City District 15/ Joe Buscaino, Councilman. A major new sponsor is Rickenbacker Guitars. New this year are the dance previews. We had one at People's Place San Pedro during the city's 125th Birthday Fest. Next came one at Crafted, also at the Port of Los Angeles and the last  at Alvas Showroom on Sept. 13. Please read our adventure there further on. Like the actual festival on Sept 21 and 22, everything is free to the public. Besides the new grants for the dance portions,  we have been awarded an LA County Music in Public Places grant for Louis Beltran Latin Jazz Group.  For a look at visual artists and vendors, go the TriArtSP.com, under visual arts.

Alvas Saves the Day When the Bride's Dress Went Missing
Last Friday, the 13th, started out good. It was our 3rd and final preview for the TriArt Festival, this one at Alvas Showroom. We did our tech for the 3 short dances we were to perform (Remembrance, The Shampoo, and Wedding), and as Marlita King brought in her Cortines HS students to space her work, my dancer bride pulled me aside. Her costume was missing. How could we do the piece without a bride? Stacy Alvarez, who manages Alva's Dance Studio called owner Matt Lincir, and he gave us permission to take anything we needed from his huge costume and dancewear store next to the Showroom. We thank Matt for saving our wedding dance with his contribution. The Preview went beautifully, and besides our Wedding Dance, Maura Townsend's Project 21, Regina Klenjowski's Dance Company, and Post Pros, a 50+ Hip Hop group performed. Jan Kain, also one of our producers (People's Palace San Pedro) closed the program leading virtually the whole audience on stage for an exuberant Zumba!!!

Special Thanks

Special thanks to you for your support!
Please continue to contribute and consider raising the amount if you are able. The new Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the DCA City of Los Angeles, the CA Arts Council and the Don Knabe Arts Education grants are all matching grants, and go towards the TriArt Festival this week, and new school residencies in the fall.
We are grateful for recent school activities funded by Don Knabe's Educational Partnership Grant and by LA County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, but your contributions can bring us to any location in LA or Santa Barbara County (or further). If you donate, you can help us get to your location!! Please visit our website to make your donation
