WHAT!? A BOYCOTT OF GIRL SCOUT COOKIES?

A major Roman Catholic organization on Thursday called for a boycott of Thin Mints, Shortbread, Peanut Butter Sandwich and other Girl Scout cookies, seeking to undercut funding for the pro-abortion agenda of the historic girls' organization.

"The Girl Scouts was once a trusted organization dedicated to character building in young girls and women. Now, GSUSA is abusing that trust," said Judie Brown, president of American Life League, the nation's oldest Catholic pro-life education and advocacy group.

"Most parents and grandparents remain painfully unaware the GSUSA has introduced so-called 'family planning' ideology in its curriculum and promotes groups like Planned Parenthood to our daughters and granddaughters," she said.

OBAMA CRITICS: D'SOUZA INDICTMENT IS PAYBACK

Now dozens of conservatives are claiming the Obama administration is exacting revenge on conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza for criticizing the president in the hit documentary, "2016: Obama's America" - but liberals insist it's just another right-wing paranoid conspiracy.

The film was a box office sensation, bringing in more than $33 million and becoming the fourth highest grossing documentary of all time as President Obama campaigned for re-election in 2012. D'Souza's latest film, "America," is due in theaters July 4.

MSNBC APOLOGIZES FOR CONTROVERSIAL TWEET ABOUT CONSERVATIVES AND CHEERIOS

MSNBC's official Twitter account deleted a tweet last night that suggested conservatives wouldn't like a new Cheerios commercial featuring an interracial family set to air during the Super Bowl.

"Maybe the rightwing will hate it, but everyone else will go awww: the adorable new #Cheerios ad w/ biracial family," read the tweet, which linked to an MSNBC.com story on the new ad.

RNC CHAIR CALLS FOR MSNBC BOYCOTT OVER RACE CHEERIOS TWEET

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus is launching a boycott of MSNBC over an incendiary tweet from the network that suggested "the rightwing" would "hate" a television ad featuring a biracial family, Breitbart News has learned.

"Until you personally and publicly apologize for this behavior, I have banned all RNC staff from appearing on, associating with, or booking any RNC surrogates on MSNBC. I have asked Republican surrogates and officials to follow our lead," Priebus told MSNBC President Phil Griffin in a letter sent today.

Priebus also sent a memo to Republican officials and surrogates urging them not to appear on the network until Griffin apologizes.

MSNBC FIRES EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHEERIOS TWEET

MSNBC has fired the employee who sent out a controversial Tweet involving a Cheerios commercial that features a biracial family.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, MSNBC president Phil Griffin called the Tweet "outrageous and unacceptable."

NBC, MSNBC SINK TO BOTTOM OF WHO THE PUBLIC TRUSTS

NBC News and sister cable network MSNBC rank at the bottom of media outlets Americans trust most for news, with Fox News leading the way, according to a new poll from the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.

In its fifth trust poll, 35 percent said they trusted Fox news more than any other outlet, followed by PBS at 14 percent, ABC at 11 percent, CNN at 10 percent, CBS at 9 percent, 6 percent for MSNBC and Comedy Central, and just 3 percent for NBC.

10:00 a.m.:  GOP Congressional candidate Matt McCall joins me in studio about his race against Congressman Lamar Smith for the March primary.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LAMAR SMITH AND MATT MCCALL

Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness's Second Revolution, a conservative blog, has endorsed Matt McCall over Lamar Smith.

CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE MATT McCALL ON THE ISSUES

GOP Congressional candidate Matt McCall
running against Congressman Lamar Smith in the March primary.

and why he believes Congressman Lamar Smith is worthy of defeating.

LAMAR VOTES FOR OBAMA'S NSA SNOOPING

Liberty is worth dying for, but Lamar Smith can't even vote for it. He voted against basic fourth amendment freedoms and for a police state by refusing to cut NSA spying on innocent citizens.

He sided with the Obama administration, and the Establishment to continue funding the NSA spying on citizens that are not even suspected of violating any law what so ever. We all seem to hate congress, but it is indeed difficult to admit that our guy is the problem.
It was truly a sight to see when Rep. Justin Amash, a Republican from Michigan, led the charge in the House yesterday to reclaim some of our precious liberties.

Amash's amendment would stop NSA "blanket surveillance" of American citizens. The language would place a limit on who the government can snoop on to those under investigation. It also places more judicial oversight over government surveillance, providing a layer of protection for both us, and our Constitution.

McCall's distaste for Lamar Smith's support of NSA snooping

10:30 a.m.:  Bruce Broughton, the composer of the "Alone Yet Not Alone" Christian movie song which was nominated for an Oscar, joins me to discuss his dismay that the nomination was ultimately pulled.

CHRISTIAN FILM STRIPPED OF 'BEST SONG' OSCAR NOMINATION

This year's most-obscure Oscar nominee is no more.

At a meeting this week, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences board of governors decided to strip the surprise nomination for Best Song from "Alone Yet Not Alone," which appears in the independent Christian-produced film of the same name.

Writer Bruce Broughton, a former member of the board of governors and currently on the music branch's executive committee, violated the Academy's rules against lobbying by personally e-mailing "members of the branch to make them aware of his submission during the nominations voting period," according to a statement released by the governors Wednesday.

The nomination of "Alone Yet Not Alone" raised the eyebrows (and hackles) of many veteran Oscar-watchers when the nominations were announced Jan. 16.

OSCARS: 'ALONE YET NOT ALONE' SINGER DISMISSES CRITICS OF SURPRISE NOMINATION

Joni Eareckson Tada tells The Hollywood Reporter allegations of backroom dealings by the song's well-connected writers are false and insists no one "pushed their influence."

As a mini-controversy develops about an Oscar-nominated song from a microbudget Christian film called Alone Yet Not Alone that few people saw, the singer, Joni Eareckson Tada, is confessing that she's as surprised as anyone that the Academy has recognized such an obscure song.

Eareckson Tada is a 64-year-old quadriplegic who runs a charitable organization that distributes wheelchairs to kids in developing nations.

She's a devout Christian who has little to do with the entertainment industry and rarely goes to the movies. She grew up singing hymns but has no professional training. And her lung capacity is just 51 percent of what it ought to be -- so weak, in fact, that her husband needed to push on her diaphragm while she recorded the Oscar-nominated song to give her enough breath to hit the high notes.

MEDIA STUNNED BY CHRISTIAN OSCAR SWIPE

The decision by the Academy Awards to withdraw the nomination of the song "Alone Yet Not Alone" ultimately will make little difference to the many people who will be touched - even comforted - by the heartfelt performance of artist Joni Eareckson Tada, and it may be rebound negatively on the Oscars themselves, according to those knowledgeable about Hollywood's biggest annual awards night.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced on Wednesday that it was disqualifying "Alone Yet Not Alone," a melody from a film of the same name, because the nominated writer, Bruce Broughton, "had emailed members of the branch to make them aware of his submission."

Broughton told the Hollywood Reporter at the time that he was hurt.
"I indulged in the simplest grassroots campaign and it went against me when the song started getting attention," he said.

George Escobar, who served as a producer, co-director and co-writer on the film "Alone Yet Not Alone," said ultimately whether the song is considered for an Oscar won't matter to most of those who will hear it.

TED CRUZ: HOUSE GOP'S AMNESTY PUSH WILL RUIN HOPES OF RETAKING SENATE

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) thinks that the House GOP leadership's renewed push this week to grant amnesty to illegal aliens would destroy the Republican Party's chances at retaking the Senate in 2014.

Cruz questioned how establishment Republicans unilaterally caving to Democrats on everything from the farm bill to the budget to the debt ceiling and more could think amnesty is a good idea at this time.

"Right now, Republican leadership in both chambers is aggressively urging members to stand down on virtually every front: on the continuing resolution, on the budget, on the farm bill, on the debt ceiling," Cruz said in a statement provided exclusively to Breitbart News on Thursday.

He continued:

They may or may not be right, but their argument is that we should focus exclusively on Obamacare and on jobs. In that context, why on earth would the House dive into immigration right now? It makes no sense, unless you're Harry Reid. Republicans are poised for an historic election this fall--a conservative tidal wave much like 2010. The biggest thing we could do to mess that up would be if the House passed an amnesty bill--or any bill perceived as an amnesty bill--that demoralized voters going into November.

AYERS: CONSTITUTION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED

President Obama's longtime buddy, unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers, Thursday night told debate opponent Dinesh D'Souza and an audience at Dartmouth College that the Constitution is an outmoded document and it ought to be changed.

Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, were the main founders of the domestic terror group the Weather Underground, which was assigned responsibility for dozens of bombings aimed at destroying the defense and security infrastructure of the U.S.

D'Souza is the maker of the movie "2016: Obama's America," which is the second-highest grossing political documentary of all time.

VULNERABLE DEMOCRATS DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM OBAMA AFTER STATE OF THE UNION

President Barack Obama was barely out of the Capitol after delivering his State of the Union address Tuesday before members of his own party began distancing themselves from the president.

In an interview with CNN after the speech, Alaska Sen. Mark Begich, one of the most vulnerable Democrats up for reelection this year, took aim at Obama's focus on using executive actions to go around Congress. "I'll be anxious to see what these executive orders are," he said. "But if they go too far you'll clearly hear push back from me. There's no question about it."

GOP HOUSE LEADERS CAMPAIGN FOR AMNESTY

The House Republican leadership is trying to sell their colleagues on a series of broad immigration principles, including a path to legal status for those here illegally.

Speaker John Boehner's leadership team introduced the principles at their annual policy retreat here. Top Republicans circulated a tightly held one-page memo titled "standards for immigration reform" toward the tail-end of a day that include strategy conversations about Obamacare, the economy and the national debt.

MITT ROMNEY IS THE 2016 REPUBLICAN FRONT-RUNNER

Mitt Romney leads the Republican field among New Hampshire primary voters for 2016. Yes, you read that right.

Why not make it a third run for president? That's something that the former Republican nominee is definitely not thinking about right now. To put it in his own recent words: "Oh, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no."

Mitt Romney appeared on The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon recently.

But that didn't stop the Virginia-based bipartisan policy firm Purple Strategies from adding his name to a recent survey for Granite State voters, which shows Romney in the lead with 25 percent support.

Libertarian firebrand Rand Paul (who has strong infrastructure in New Hampshire) and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are behind with 18 percent and 17 percent support, respectively.

We might be experiencing Mittmentum 3.0. The Netflix documentary about his 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns was recently released to the excitement of political insiders everywhere. GOP insiders want him to come back: "You know what a lot of them say to me?" an anonymous "operative" told BuzzFeed. "I think we need Mitt back." Romney was even on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to slow jam the news.

BIBLICAL POINTS AGAINST BIRTH CONTROL
by Nelson Minica, San Antonio father of 9 children

1. Nowhere in the Bible is birth control permitted or allowed.

2. Birth control is explicitly condemned in the example of Onan practicing coitus interruptus (Genesis 38:10).

3. Birth control is implicitly condemned in the example of Esau profaning a blessing (Hebrews 12:16).

4. The Bible declares that children are a blessing (Psalms 127:5 ESV, Genesis 9:1, Leviticus 26:9, Deuteronomy 7:13; 28:4, etc).

5. The Bible ties dominion, control over enemies, and legal success in courts to bountiful offspring (Genesis 1:28, 22:17, 24:60, Psalms 127:4-5 NIRV).

6. The Bible implies birth control is bad because it states the opposite (fruitfulness) is good (Genesis 17:6,16, 28:3, 49:25, Psalms 127:3, 128:3, 1 Timothy 5:14, etc).

EMPLOYEES IN PENNSYLVANIA COMPANY ARE DEVASTATED WHEN THEY LEARN OF INCREASED HEALTH COSTS DUE TO OBAMACARE

A local news station brings viewers inside one Pennsylvania company as the employees there learn about their new health care plans under Obamacare:

"Look at the numbers," says the reporter of two employees. "Jeff and Dave used to have a $1,250 deductible. Since Obamacare went into effect, it's now jumped 60 percent to $2,000. That's nothing compared to Brian, Kristi, and Judy who have kids. they are going to pay twice that, four grand." The reporter adds that co-pays are being increased, too.

SUPER BOWL SNIPERS

Along with excited and eager fans, SWAT teams and Snipers will be attending Super Bowl XLVIII. The reason for such high precautions is because the Super Bowl is a level one national security event.

Former FBI agent Jonathan Gilliam explains how snipers work in coordination with SWAT teams to give the fans and players ultimate safety.

"If you have an active shooter or you have anyone who may have a bomb. Snipers have a better angle then anyone who is on the ground to actually hit that target. It's an entire team that communicates. You have individuals who are at high altitudes inside the arena and then you have individuals that are on the ground moving in and around the crowd," he explained.

ROB FORD DEFENDS 'SUCCESSFUL' JUSTIN BIEBER

At least 200,000 people might want Justin Bieber deported from the U.S., but he has at least one defender in Canada: embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

Ford was appearing on a D.C. radio show Thursday and was asked about the controversy surrounding the Canadian pop star.

BLOOMBERG TAPPED TO BE U.N. CITIES, GLOBAL WARMING ENVOY

Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been tapped to be U.N. special envoy for cities and global warming, sources familiar with the situation said on Thursday.

Barring any last minute changes, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon - who is seeking to re-energize the global warming debate and boost the United Nations' role - could make the announcement as early as Friday, the sources said on the condition of anonymity.
Bloomberg, a billionaire philanthropist who left office last month, made combating climate change a key focus during his 12 years leading the United States most populous city. He also advocated for national global warming legislation.

OBAMACARE'S UNPOPULARITY RISES AMONG UNINSURED

As the deadline for 2014 enrollment nears, Obamacare is increasingly growing unpopular, especially among the uninsured. A new Kaiser Family Foundation survey finds that about twice as many uninsured people have an unfavorable view of the health-care law than have a favorable one.

Among the uninsured, 47 percent view Obamacare in a negative light versus the 24 percent who view it favorably. That's a change from 43 percent who viewed it unfavorably last month, and 36 percent who viewed it favorably. Overall, half of Americans view Obamacare unfavorably, while just over one-third have a positive take on the law.

AVERAGE WAIT TIMES TO SEE DOCTORS IN U.S.

How long do you typically wait to see your doctor?

Well if your physician is in D.C., you will most likely wait about 17 days to schedule an appointment.

A survey of physicians nationwide found the average wait time for a new patient is nearly 19 days.

The longest wait time was in Boston at 72 days and the shortest is in Dallas with 10 days.

NEARLY HALF OF AMERICA LIVES PAYCHECK-TO-PAYCHECK

The economic picture is looking brighter these days. The federal government announced Thursday that economic growth had picked up to its fastest pace in two years, while employment growth over the past five months has averaged a healthy 185,000 new jobs.

But as evidenced by a report out Thursday from the Corporation for Enterprise Development, nearly half of Americans are living in a state of "persistent economic security," that makes it "difficult to look beyond immediate needs and plan for a more secure future."

In other words, too many of us are living paycheck to paycheck. The CFED calls these folks "liquid asset poor," and its report finds that 44% of Americans are living with less than $5,887 in savings for a family of four. The plight of these folks is compounded by the fact that the recession ravaged many Americans' credit scores to the point that now 56% percent of us have subprime credit. That means that if emergencies arise, many Americans are forced to resort to high-interest debt from credit cards or payday loans.

ZUCKERBERG GAINS $3.2 BILLION AS FACEBOOK SOARS ON MOBILE

Facebook Inc.'s three billionaire co-founders added $4.5 billion to their collective net worth yesterday after the world's largest social-networking company closed at a record.

Mark Zuckerberg, the company's 29-year-old chief executive officer, gained $3.2 billion, elevating his fortune to $27.4 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He added $12.4 billion to his net worth in 2013.
