Resource Spotlight
Mediation

Resolution for civil matters in a court room can be an expensive and stressful process. With lawyer's fees and other expenses, civil court trials' costs often add up to more than most people can afford to pay. In addition, civil court is often marked by long and frequent trial delays.

Mediation programs offer procedures for settling disputes which serve as legal alternatives to a conventional court trial. These programs are less costly and produce settlement more quickly than traditional litigation.

There are different types of mediation service. For example, community mediation assists adults with issues involving many different types of disputes or disagreements between family members, friends, neighbors, landlords/tenants, consumers, and other community conflicts.
