Global Focus: Give Braillers for Irente School
This Lent, you are invited to help provide modern, state-of-the art braillers to the Irente School for the Blind in our companion North Eastern Diocese of Tanzania. Braillers are typewriters with keys corresponding to the braille code -- critical tools for developing literacy for the visually impaired. Many of the braillers currently used at Irente are outdated or broken. This simple piece of equipment, costing about $800, can truly make all the difference in the world to a young child.

Bishop Eaton on the Liminal Space of Holy Saturday
In her March column for The Lutheran, Presiding Bishop Elizabeth A. Eaton reflects on that space between Good Friday and Easter. She says it can be seen as empty, something to be resisted, but it also beckons us from our life to a life in Christ.
Youth Ignite Service at Helping Hands Day
Youth and adults from across our Synod will fan the flames of service to our neighbors on Helping Hands Day: Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 10 am to 4 pm. This year's theme is "Ignite!" - hearkening back to the story of Pentecost and the Holy Spirit's coming among us in power and fire. We'll focus on the significance of light in Scripture, lifting up Martin Luther King, Jr.'s famous quote, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."

School Materials, Furniture Available
The former Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Mayfair closed its doors in 2015 after 35 years of service to the community. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has many school/classroom materials (books, paper, crayons, pencils, paint, brushes, dvd's cd's etc.) and furniture (tables, desks and chairs) available -- so much you have to see for your self. If you have a Christian school, pre-school, kindergarten or daycare and can use what they have left, please contact the church office at 215.332.4110 between the hours of 10 am - 2 pm to set up time to see what you can use for your operation.
Join Us for Revival Worship April 26
