Northeast Diakonia Classes Start Sept. 15

Diakonia (TM) 

The Northeast Conference is excited to announce that they will be hosting Diakonia(TM) classes starting Tuesday evening, September 15th. The Diakonia program is a two year process of spiritual formation and theological education, open to all who would like to learn more about the Lutheran Church and its teachings.  Classes will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 1017 Cottman Avenue in Philadelphia.

Working With Survivors of Intimate-Partner Violence

  

Lutheran Settlement House invites professionals to take part in training for working with survivors of intimate-partner violence on Thursday, Aug. 20, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. at the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.

Welcome Church Hosts Service of Hope and Healing 

  

Praying The Welcome Church, an innovative ministry with persons experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia, invites you to a Service of Hope and Healing, remembering all we have lost in recent months, especially those who have died from drug and alcohol related illnesses. The service is Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 1:30 pm at Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion, 21st and Chestnut. You support Welcome Church through your support of our Synod and the ELCA.

Pastor Paul Hoffman successfully used a process of faith formation and renewal called "The Way" for more than 10 years at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church. He will visit Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Coatesville on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 9 am to noon to tell the story of "The Way". Cost is $25 for the first person from a congregation, and $5 for each additional person.
