Hunger Ministry Team Forming
Many SEPA congregations are involved in the fight against hunger - providing food pantries (or supporting neighborhood efforts), holding community meals, and more.
A Synod Hunger Ministry Team is now being formed to help share the word about ELCA resources and grants and to network and support our people engaged in hunger ministries. The team will raise awareness of the growing problem of food insecurity in our region and help to enable collaboration across our Synod.
The team seeks to identify contact people in each congregation who would help share news and resources and to share the stories of our many hunger ministries.
Another idea on the table is to create a network of people engaged in doing hunger ministry to enable sharing of ideas and "what works" and offer learning opportunities and mutual support.
If you are interested in being part of the core team, being a contact for your congregation, or joining the sharing and support network, please indicate your interest by emailing Annette Sample at sample.annette@gmail.com.

Meet 'Generation Z'
Churches (and marketers) have been busy studying the Millennial generation. Yet its time to get ready for "Generation Z," Americans born since 1995. According to an interesting presentation from marketing agency sparks&honey, "Gen Z is different...In many ways Gen Zers are the opposites or extreme versions of millennials." Its too early to know what impact Gen Z will have on our culture and church, but the marketers share some interesting insights in a Slideshare presentation.
