Share Your Story!

Our Synod is all of us, and the ministries we carry out in Christ's name across Southeastern Pennsylvania. Help tell our shared story by posting photos and articles of the ways your hands do God's work in your place -- in worship and prayer, teaching the faith, being present with "the least of these." Post your photos and stories to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media with the hashtag #wearesepa or email them to Bob Fisher at rfisher@sepa.org.

Lutherans for Shared Prosperity Starts Up

Persistent poverty is one of the biggest threats to the common good and prosperity of Philadelphia and the southeastern Pennsylvania region. Lutheran Settlement House, Liberty Lutheran Services and Lutheran Advocacy Ministry in Pennsylvania invite Philadelphia-area ELCA ministries involved with or interested in fighting poverty to the first gathering of Lutherans for Shared Prosperity on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm at the Lutheran Settlement House. What could Lutherans do create and implement greater collaboration in our anti-poverty work?

Share Stories to Combat Poverty in PA

Lutheran Advocacy Ministry in Pennsylvania is looking for Lutherans to weigh in for the well-being of the approximately 1.5 million Pennsylvanians living in poverty. In the state House, legislative teams are setting out to explore, in greater detail, aspects of Pennsylvania's efforts to combat poverty. (Learn more about this legislative initiative.) You can help these committees to see the real issues, the stories and the research into what really works. Contact LAMPa with your stories, research and neighbors in need whom we can accompany as they share their stories.
