Dear youth and parents,
It's been a strange week in the office with so many of our ministerial staff away for camps and trips. Cyndy and Jessica are in Nicaragua with the mission pilgrimage, Kera has been at JYF Camp, and Tyler and Josh are at Chi Rho Camp. Allison Bright and I have been holding down the fort with a lot of help from the administrative and program staff, and we've had a good week. Though, to be clear, I'll be happy to have my colleagues back soon! I've heard great things from all of them during the week, and Josh sent a great photo (below) on the last day of Eighter's Camp last Saturday:

Sunday School Sabbath month continues this Sunday
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 
Sunday school classes for youth and children continue a month-long break this Sunday. (Preschool childcare is still available all morning each Sunday.) This Sunday School Sabbath is intended to provide a period of rest and renewal for teachers, participants, and families at UCC, and allows time to do some things you may not normally do on Sunday mornings. What can you do with that hour each Sunday morning? Here are some ideas:
- Sleep in and take your time getting ready for 11:00 worship.
- Go to the 9:00 service, then go out for brunch with family or friends.
- Invite a friend to worship and show them around the building.
- Grab a couple of seats in one of the many conversation spaces throughout the building and catch up with someone you haven't talked to in a while.
However you choose to spend this time of rest and renewal from our usual programming, we hope it's a life-giving and rejuvenating time.

Burger's Lake outing for 5th-8th graders this Wednesday

From Tyler Heston, Assistant Minister for Middle School:
This Wednesday, July 13, all youth who have completed 5th through 8th grade will have a sunny, summer outing to Burger's Lake, which offers a one-acre lake for swimming with 6 diving boards, a 20-foot water slide, and a 25-foot trapeze. Come wearing a swimsuit, t-shirt, flip flops, and any other swimwear, and bring $10 to cover entrance to the park (extra money for the snack bar is optional - we will provide ice cream sundaes!) This'll be a fun afternoon, and an excellent chance to bring friends along to a UCC Youth event.
Meet at UCC at 1 p.m. to carpool over (we will return by 5 p.m.), or meet us at Burger's Lake (1200 Meandering Road) at 1:30 p.m. (we will depart the lake by 4:30 p.m.) Email me at tyler.heston@uccftw.com to RSVP so that we can work out carpooling
Parents: If you are available to help drive to or from the lake, or you'd like to join us for the afternoon, let me know!

Whirlyball outing for 8th-12th graders this Thursday
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 
Youth who have completed grades 8-12 will take a trip to Hurst next Thursday evening, July 14 to play Whirlyball, an exciting game that combines basketball, lacrosse, and bumper cars. The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. to carpool to the facility for two hours of play, and should return to the church by 9:30 p.m. This is one of the most popular youth outings each year, and a great opportunity to invite a friend!
