Dear youth and parents,

This Sunday you have an opportunity to say farewell to Alison Nicoll as she transitions to her new calling as Associate Pastor at Ankeny Christian Church near Des Moines, Iowa. Be sure to stop by and express your appreciation to Alison for her ministry here at UCC in two different roles over the last 3 1/2 years. I'm grateful for the many gifts Alison shared with us, and for service as a trusted member of the ministerial team who was always willing to go above and beyond what was in her job description. She will be greatly missed, and I know wonderful things are in store in Ankeny!

Be sure to thank Alison Nicoll for her ministry at UCC this Sunday as she transitions to her new role as Associate Pastor at Ankeny Christian Church outside Des Moines, Iowa. We will have receptions in the Gallery following each of the morning worship services, and we hope you'll be able to stop by and wish her well! Room In The Inn volunteer training Sunday afternoon

Are you interested in volunteering with Room In The Inn? This incredible ministry provides our homeless neighbors with delicious meals, a shower, good company, and a peaceful night's sleep on Wednesday nights during the coldest and hottest months of the year. Volunteers help prepare and serve meals, dine and play card games with our guests, set up and clean up the dining and sleeping areas and more. To participate in this ministry, plan to attend the volunteer training this Sunday, June 26 from 2-4 p.m. and stop by the table in the Gallery on Sunday mornings to sign up for volunteer shifts during the summer.

This is a wonderful opportunity to build relationships across generations while making a real difference in the lives of our homeless neighbors, so if you have time to help come be a part of Room In The Inn! To sign up for the training, contact Carol Stewart at carolmstewart@sbcglobal.net.

9 of UCC's 8th graders will meet on Monday to travel to Eighters Camp at Disciples Crossing, our church camp in Athens. During the week our group will join with youth and adults from other Disciples churches in the area to grow closer to God and one another on holy ground. Please keep this group in your prayers, and pick up a pre-addressed postcard in the Gallery on Sunday to send mail to one of our campers during the week.

Parents of campers: Remember to meet at UCC at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon for the camp carpool!

Buy mission trip stock and support youth work projects

Our congregation has an opportunity to buy stock in our youth mission trips at the table located in the Gallery on Sunday mornings. At $10 per share, the stock will fund work projects at Loch Leven Camp and All Peoples Community Center and earns an invitation to a "shareholders luncheon" at the end of the summer to hear about the trips. If you or your child can't make the trip, this is a great way to support youth missions and get an exclusive report about the trips afterward. Just stop by the table in the Gallery any Sunday morning after either worship service or Sunday school through June 26 and one of the trip participants will be happy to help you.
