Dear youth and parents, It was great to see so many of you at the Youth Family Roundup last Sunday! Lots of people signed up for snack volunteer opportunities, this year's Disciples Class, helping with Prom Dreams, parking cars for TCU games, and ringing in handbell choirs. We also got a LOT of directory info updated, and over 50 people are set up on our new text alert service. It was an excellent start to the year, and I appreciate all the help from Jennifer Lanter, Steve and Joy Milton, our Youth Ministry Committee members, and our staff to make it happen.
This weekend we have more exciting kickoff events, with Promotion Sunday in the morning, food trucks and fun kid activities in the afternoon, and youth handbell choirs in the evening. I hope you can join us for a great day at UCC! Read on for more info on Sunday's events, signing up for youth handbell choirs, text alerts, and more.
Grace and peace,
Russ

New weekly schedule for youth groups and handbell choirs

After coordinating with several other ministry areas and soliciting feedback from families, we have put together a new weekly schedule for youth groups and youth handbell choirs for this program year. The new Sunday evening schedule is as follows:
5:00-6:00
Middle school youth group, high school handbell choir
6:00-6:30
Snack supper (all youth, children, college, and volunteers)
6:30-7:30

Also, note that our children's Sunday night program (CCF/JYF, grades 1-5) will start at 5 p.m. and join with youth for dinner. Afterward, Kera plans to offer some optional programming for kids waiting on an older sibling who will be here until 7:30. Handbell choirs will meet on August 23 and 30, with a parent meeting in between the rehearsals at 6 p.m. on each of those Sundays. After a break for labor day weekend, handbell rehearsals will resume on September 13 and youth groups will have their first meetings that night.
