Dear youth and parents,
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, however you chose to spend the day. Alison, Michael, and I are all out of town this week spending time with family, and we're thankful for the chance to get away. Before I left town I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious Thanksgiving feast with 45 youth, adults, and college students. It was our biggest turnout yet for this annual event, and I wanted to share a couple of photos from the evening. Thanks to everyone who brought dishes to share, and especially to Frank and John Perry who prepared the turkey and a traditional Thanksgiving jambalaya.
Read on for a reminder about the annual youth-led Hanging of the Greens service, and I will look forward to seeing you there on Sunday!

All youth on deck! Hanging of the Greens is this Sunday
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
The annual Hanging of the Greens worship service that decorates our sanctuary for the seasons of Advent and Christmas will be led by our middle and high school youth this Sunday, November 30 at 5:30 p.m. Youth who would like a speaking part should be present in the sanctuary at 2:30 p.m. to rehearse, while all other youth should arrive by 3:30 p.m. to practice processing and hanging the greenery. (Handbell ringers: You can ring in the bell choir and have a speaking part if you like.) This service requires 50+ youth, so we need you if you're available!
If you purchased a long-sleeved Hanging of the Greens t-shirt in the past, plan to wear it. All participants who don't already have a Hanging of the Greens shirt will be given one to wear during the service. Participants can keep the shirt for only $10, and extra shirts will be available for the general public to purchase for $15. Click here to see the shirt design.
