Dear youth and parents,

Our Sunday evening programs kick off this week, and I hope that the new schedule this year works well for many of you. All of our programs for youth, children, and college are shifting to a 5:00 start time on Sundays, and an optional $3 dinner that's open to all groups will be served in the 3rd floor kitchen starting at 6:15. See the articles below for details on the new schedule, and to sign up to provide a snack supper one Sunday evening this semester. It's an easy way to support our ministries to youth, children, and college students!

Grace and Peace,
Russ

Sunday evening youth groups begin this Sunday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our regular Sunday evening youth programs begin this Sunday, September 7, and all youth in grades 6-12 will be gathering for prayer, play, discussion, service, bonding, and more. Here's the Sunday evening schedule:
4:30 p.m. - Game room and prayer room are open
5:00 - Chi Rho (grades 6-8) and CYF (9-12) youth groups
6:15 - Snack supper in 3rd floor kitchen ($3)
6:45 - You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here
Our Sunday night program for children (CCF/JYF) will also start at 5 p.m., and younger kids are welcome to come up and join us for dinner at 6:15 following the end of their group meetings.
Want an easy one-time volunteer gig? Provide a snack supper!
Youth parents! See the youth up close, personal and appreciative by serving Snack  Supper on Sunday night. Snack supper is a great way to see and get to know the youth, and it's fun!
Snack supper graphic The commitment is for one Sunday evening, from about 5:45-7 p.m., plus cooking or shopping time - you decide how much time you want to spend on preparation. Dinner is served at 6:15 p.m. in the third floor kitchen for 25-35 youth, children, and college students. All the paper goods, cutlery, drink supplies, and most condiments are there for you. You provide the food, fix lemonade (provided), serve everything and clean up. You can choose to donate the meal, or you can be reimbursed up to $100 if you provide itemized receipts. You will receive a reminder e-mail the week before your snack supper that includes additional useful tips and suggested menus.
The third floor kitchen can be used anytime after 2:30 p.m. on Sundays for advance prep. (Sandwiches are just as popular as anything else, so cooking isn't required if that's not your thing.) If you prefer to purchase all or part of the food already prepared, that's great too. There's also a fridge and freezer you can stash things in.
Volunteer at Children's Closet "Bag-It Night" this Wednesday
Bag-it night graphic
UCC's Children's Closet will be distributing over 2,500 school uniforms this year, and your help is needed! Youth will gather in Fellowship Hall at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10 to move and unpack boxes of clothing and set up for the annual "Bag-it Night." The youth will be joined by volunteers of all ages at 6 p.m. to get the school uniforms bagged, and the event will wrap up by 8. Your work will make a huge difference in the lives of Fort Worth schoolchildren, and you'll earn service hours as well! If you have questions, please contact Heidi Reeder at 817.913.3304 or heidi@thereeders.com
Next youth football parking fundraiser is September 13
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~TCU Logo~~~~~~~

Football season is here again, and youth and parents have the opportunity to raise money by parking cars in the church lots for TCU football games. Part of the money raised goes into youth and youth handbell choir reserve funds, and part goes into the individual accounts of those who work each game to use for camps, retreats, trips, and other church events. This year, each hour is worth $50 per family member who works.

The next TCU home game is Saturday, September 13 against Minnesota. Kickoff is at 3:00 p.m., and we will need volunteers in shifts from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. to control access to our season parking lots and direct cars/take money for the daily parking lots. You can reserve your shift by clicking the button below:

All volunteers are required to sign up online in advance of the fundraiser. If you are having trouble with the SignUpGenius page, please contact me at russ@uccftw.com and I will schedule your shift for you.
