Dear youth and parents,

Our first major youth ministry events of the summer are upon us! Our middle school youth depart for the Chi Rho Mission Trip to Austin on Sunday, and 10th-12th graders head to Disciples Crossing in Athens for CYF Conference on Monday. I will be posting pictures from the mission trip to the UCC Youth Facebook page throughout the trip, so be sure to like our page on Facebook to get photos and updates while we're away.

 Chi Rho Mission Trip departs this Sunday afternoon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A group of 20 middle school youth and 7 adults will be traveling to Austin this Sunday afternoon for the Chi Rho Mission Trip. They will be serving others at the Capital Area Food Bank, Manos de Cristo, and other organizations that serve individuals and families throughout the Austin area. The group will also be taking time to visit several cultural attractions, and will spend time in fellowship, worship, and small groups in the evenings before returning on Wednesday.  Please keep our missionaries in your prayers as they serve others in Christ's name this week!

Chi Rho outing to Main Event on June 25 - RSVP today!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Main Event

UCC's Chi Rho youth (completed grades 6-8) will be playing at Main Event on Wednesday afternoon, June 25. The group will meet at UCC at 1 p.m. to carpool over (or meet us at Main Event at 1:30) and return around 4:30 p.m. (or pick up at Main Event at 4). For only $15, each youth gets an hour of bowling, a game of laser tag, $10 worth of arcade tokens, two slices of pizza, and a drink. This is a great opportunity to invite friends to a church outing, so feel free to do so. We must provide a headcount several days in advance, so e-mail Kirstin Meyers to RSVP at kirstin.meyers@uccftw.com by Sunday, June 22.

PARENTS: If you are able to drive please e-mail Kirstin and let her know how many youth you can transport in your vehicle. We will need several adults to take youth to Main Event and several to pick up when we finish. 
  

 


Latte With The Ladies at Brewed tomorrow morning

Latte With The Ladies, a monthly intergenerational gathering for women at a local  coffee shop, will be this Saturday, June 14. Ladies of all ages are invited to gather at Brewed (801 W. Magnolia Ave.) between 9 and 11 a.m. for tasty beverages and informal conversation.  Invite a friend and drop in this Saturday morning! 
  

 


Buy mission trip stock and support youth work projects

Our congregation has an opportunity to buy stock in our youth mission trips at the table located in the Gallery on Sunday mornings. At $10 per share, the stock will fund work projects on the Yakama Indian Reservation and earns an invitation to a "shareholders luncheon" at the end of the summer to hear about the trips. If you or your child can't make the trip, this is a great way to support youth missions and get an exclusive report about the trips afterward. Just stop by the table in the Gallery any Sunday morning after either worship service or Sunday school through June 22 and one of the trip participants will be happy to help you.

Youth (and parents): Volunteer to help with VBS this summer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Feeling sad that you are too old to participate in Vacation Bible School? Don't be - we NEED YOU! Take time during VBS week (June 24-27 from 9 a.m. - noon) to step back to your preschool or elementary days and share some of your energy, enthusiasm, and spirit with kids. More importantly, young children are looking up to you, think you are great, and want to be like you. Create relationships that will last years by spending time with kids during VBS teaching, learning, and having fun together.
