Dear youth and parents,
Our summer ministry interns have been with us for less than two weeks and they have already had a major impact here! As I gave them a tour of the church they made lots of mental notes of projects to work on, and they have been going non-stop every since. Some of the big ones they have knocked out: Move the books and resources from Alison and Michael's old office and organize them into a new Christian education library in their new office area, de-clutter and organize the storage closets, finish the youth prayer room (it looks amazing!), update bulletin boards throughout the building, and coordinate with Disciple colleges to update our college display. They have also participated in an ordination (a first for both of them) and will be observing a wedding rehearsal and wedding this weekend. They will both be participaing in the worship service on Sunday, so be sure to introduce yourself to Kirstin and Brenda if you haven't already!

High school outing to play Whirlyball Wednesday afternoon

Arroz y Frijoles Cook-off supports the Nicaragua mission
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Join us for an evening of fun and great food on Thursday, June 12 to support UCC's Nicaragua Mission Pilgrimage. The dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall, and the cost is $10 for adults (the estimated cost of feeding a family of four in Nicaragua) and $3 for children. Come sample the different rice and beans dishes and vote for your favorites while enjoying additional food and drinks, slides of Nicaragua, and musical entertainment. Organic Nicaraguan coffee (donated by Central Market) and hand made crafts will be available for purchase.
To submit a rice and beans dish for the cook off competition, contact Lynn Cross at lynn@uccftw.com. Prizes will be awarded for the best entries!

Buy mission trip stock and support youth work projects
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~
Our congregation has an opportunity to buy stock in our youth mission trips at the table located in the Gallery on Sunday mornings. At $10 per share, the stock will fund work projects on the Yakama Indian Reservation and earns an invitation to a "shareholders luncheon" at the end of the summer to hear about the trips. If you or your child can't make the trip, this is a great way to support youth missions and get an exclusive report about the trips afterward. Just stop by the table in the Gallery any Sunday morning after either worship service or Sunday school from through June 22 and one of the trip participants will be happy to help you.
