Dear youth and parents,
I apologize that the e-news is getting to you a day late. The service that our church uses for e-mail lists (Constant Contact) was down all day yesterday due to a local power failure, so I'm just now able to log on and compose the e-news. (This also means that I don't have the benefit of a proofreader, so please be gentle when you encounter spelling or grammatical errors.)
Read on for more information about the schedule for Easter Sunday, the upcoming Senior Banquet, registration for camps and mission trips, and more.
Grace and Peace, Russ |

RSVP today to honor our graduates at the Senior Banquet ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~
University Christian Church invites you to come honor our 2014 high school graduates at the Senior Banquet on Wednesday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m in Fellowship Hall. During the evening we'll share a dinner catered by Pulido's, take time to meet each of the graduates, see photos and memorabilia from their journeys, and send them off with a gift and the blessing of their church family. RSVP's for dinner are needed by May 1, so be sure to e-mail Susan Rogers at susanrogers06@yahoo.com to let her know the number in your party. The cost for dinner is $10 per person.

Registration continues for camps at Disciples Crossing ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~
Youth and children from Pre-K through 12th grade have the opportunity to grow closer to God and one another this summer at Disciples Crossing, our church camp in Athens. There are 12 different camps spread across the summer, each with a different focus. Use the links below to access:
Camp descriptions, dates, and prices (2 pages)
Remember that UCC is covering half of the registration cost for those who register early (already reflected in the documents above), and additional scholarships are available to cover the early-bird price if needed. Camp forms will be processed by Pam Santangelo in the UCC business office this year, and you're welcome to drop off your forms at the main reception desk at any time to get them into Pam's mailbox.

New administrative support in place for UCC's youth ministry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~
In case you missed the announcement last week, I wanted to be sure you know who your points of contact will be for youth ministry administrative support after the recent budget cuts that included the elimination of Sharyn Peterson's position.
Susan Henry will be your primary point of contact for most youth ministry administrative tasks. Many of you already know Susan from her years of faithful service providing administrative support to UCC's children's ministry. Her portfolio has expanded from the nursery all the way up to 12th grade, and I have no doubt that she will do an excellent job of providing the same top notch program support that our children's ministry has enjoyed for years. She can be reached at susan@uccftw.com or 817-926-6631817-926-6631 ext. 165.
The UCC business office will be taking over registration for summer camps, retreats, mission trips, and season parking for TCU football. Additionally, they will be loaning us one of their TCU work study students to help with large mailings and similar tasks. I had a great meeting with Michelle Ingram and Pam Santangelo yesterday to work through some details related to this new arrangement, and I think this setup will work incredibly well. Our business office is extremely professional, efficient, and thorough - the exact qualities needed to handle registrations and football parking. Pam can be reached at psantangelo@uccftw.com or 817-926-6631817-926-6631 ext. 140. Season parking inquiries for TCU football can be directed to parking@uccftw.com or call Marilyn Kirsch at 817-926-6631817-926-6631 ext. 126.
Carol Elliott has graciously volunteered to help out in the office for 2-3 hours every week. Carol has experience as both an office manager in the corporate world and a member of the UCC youth ministry staff, so I'm thrilled that she offered to help every week in the wake of staff cuts. She will be handling some of the tasks that come around every week so that Susan doesn't have too much on her plate.
If you have any questions or suggestions as we live into this new arrangement, please don't hesitate to contact me at russ@uccftw.com. Your patience is appreciated as we iron out lots of details over the next few weeks!
