Dear youth and parents,
Last Sunday we wrapped up the final workshop in the middle school Just Say Know series, and our high school group has their last class session this coming Sunday. We have received lots of helpful feedback to plan these courses in the future, with suggestions ranging from content to timing to class structure. Jennifer Lanter and I will be meeting with all of the teachers to review the evaluations and provide our own perspectives on what we might change or sustain next year when we offer the classes again. Thanks to everyone who participated and provided feedback to help us make the Just Say Know program even better!
Read on for more information on Saturday's Chi Rho lock-in, a volunteer meeting for Prom Dreams Boutique, signups for bagel delivery volunteers, and more.

Chi Rho lock-in for grades 6-8 this Saturday night! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Alison Nicoll, Assistant Minister for Middle School:
All UCC 6th-8th graders are invited to a Harry Potter-themed lock-in this Saturday, March 1! I encourage you to dress up as your favorite character from the book/movie series and come ready to have a great evening! We will be sorted by the Sorting Hat and having house competitions throughout the night by playing various Harry Potter games including Broom Races and Quidditch. The lock-in will start at 7:00 p. m. on Friday and pick up will be after the 9:00 worship service or Sunday school classes on Sunday. Dust off your wand and get ready for a fun night at Hogwarts! Be sure to pack whatever you need to stay overnight (sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, PJ's) and clothes for church on Sunday morning.
Parents: You are encouraged to bring Harry Potter-themed snacks for the lock-in. You can find a lot of great ideas by Googling "Harry Potter snacks," and you can see some great examples here, here, and here (plus a gluten-free one here).

Prom Dreams Boutique volunteer meeting this Thursday ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
Prom Dreams Boutique, a ministry of University Christian Church that provides free prom dresses to local girls who need them, will open for its fourth season on March 20. Last year this ministry distributed dresses, shoes, and jewelry to over 125 girls . This ministry is only possible due to donations and volunteers who help the young women select their "perfect" dress. If you are interested in volunteering, mark your calendar for a volunteer meeting this Thursday, March 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the Prom Dreams Boutique (upper level of the house next door to the church).
Donations of dresses, shoes, jewelry, purses, and other accessories can be dropped off at the reception desk at any time. Questions about Prom Dreams? E-mail Jessica Vacketta at jessica@uccftw.com.

Pick a month and volunteer for Sunday bagel/donut delivery ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~
Hello all! We are in need of volunteers (adults or youth who can drive) for Sunday morning snack pickups for our middle and high school youth. Thank you to those that have graciously volunteered already this year. This easy job, not requiring large amounts of time, entails picking up pre-ordered snacks from either Circle Donuts or Einstein's Bagels and dropping them off in the youth gathering room by 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings for one month. We currently need volunteers for each month from March through August.
To sign up, visit our SignupGenius page here. If you have questions, please e-mail me at sundaysnackvolunteers@yahoo.com. Thank you!

Dust off your bat and glove and meet us at the ballpark this spring as we bring back the UCC softball team! Sponsored by Adult Ministries, men and women ages 16 and up are welcome to join the team. Games are Friday evenings at Gateway Park in Fort Worth from March 14 - May 23. The cost to play is $20, which includes a team t-shirt. T-shirts will be ordered this Sunday, so be sure to sign up this weekend to ensure you get a shirt.
We are also looking for a team manager who will be responsible for coordinating with players to ensure we have enough at each game. If you are interested in playing or managing, contact Jessica Vacketta at jessica@uccftw.com.

Sign up to share your art in the UCC Decorative Arts Exhibit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From UCC's Church and the Arts Ministry:
The Church and the Arts Ministry would like to include the artisans in our youth ministry this year at a decorative arts exhibit and reception on Sunday, March 30. Though the exhibit is focused on the decorative arts (like pottery, furniture, baskets, and other "useful" items) other art submissions like painting and photography are encouraged as well.
Each year the congregation is amazed at all the talents of our members. Make this the year you share yours with all of us! Questions? Contact Carolyn Critz at 817-292-6705 or carolyncritz1954@att.net or Martha Lunday at 817-831-1221 or martha@lunday.com.
