Dear UCC Youth and parents,
We are nearing the end of college football season, and only two TCU home games remain. Our annual football parking fundraiser has gone well this year, and we have had a big boost in volunteer turnout over last year. Thanks for all your help in making this fundraiser a success for our youth ministry and youth handbell choirs!
I wanted to let you know about a few changes based on our experience parking cars so far this year. Each of these shifts will help with a more even distribution of volunteers, a better distribution of fundraising dollars, and a safer experience for our volunteers.
1. There will be an online sign-up before each game to help ensure our volunteer turnout matches the need for each shift. It takes less than a minute to sign up, and the process makes it easy to sign up multiple family members at once. To sign up for shifts at Saturday's game vs. West Virginia,

2. Volunteer hours are now capped at three hours per volunteer each game. This fundraiser was designed with the assumption that most volunteers would work one or two hours, with the exception of the handful of volunteers in charge of parking this season who are present the whole time. However, so many volunteers have been working 4-5 hours per game (often when more than enough volunteers are present) that it has thrown off the distribution of funds. Capping the hours will help balance out the income between the individual family accounts and the reserve accounts for the youth ministry and youth handbell choirs.
3. Middle school youth need a parent or guardian present to volunteer. While it's great to have plenty of youth participating in the fundraiser, we have had a number of incidents this year involving younger volunteers darting in front of cars without looking or wandering around/playing with friends while clocked in as a volunteer. Nearly every issue would be easily resolved if a parent or adult guardian were present, so for future games any 6th-8th grader who volunteers will need a parent or guardian at the fundraiser as well.
Thanks again for your hard work and dedication to this important fundraiser that makes a huge difference in the programs and scholarships our youth and music ministries can offer. I'll see you at the next game!
Grace and Peace,
Rev. Russ Boyd
