---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear youth and parents,
Today is the last day of the CYF Mission Trip to Memphis, and we are hard at work at First Congregational Church installing trim and painting in their fellowship hall, sealing a deck, and replacing ceiling tiles. We have had a fun and meaningful week filled with diverse service opportunities, educational visits to museums and historic sites, and several outings to experience Memphis culture. Use the link in the article below to see some photos from the week, and we'll look forward to seeing you after we return on Saturday night.
Read on for info about the Sunday School Sabbath that starts this Sunday, a Chi Rho outing to Main Event, a CYF trip to the Coyote Drive-In, and more!
Grace and Peace,
Russ

Sunday School Sabbath for July begins this Sunday ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
Sunday school classes for youth and children will begin a month-long break starting this Sunday, July 7. (Preschool childcare will still be available all morning each Sunday.) This Sunday School Sabbath is intended to provide a period of rest and renewal for teachers, participants, and families at UCC, and allows time to do some things you may not normally do on Sunday mornings. What can you do with that hour each Sunday morning? Here are some ideas:
- Stop by the third floor for drinks and snacks in Room 303 between services (available from 9:50 - 10:50).
- Sleep in and take your time getting ready for 11:00 worship.
- Go to the 9:00 service, then go out for brunch with family or friends.
- Visit an adult Sunday school class that has elected to meet during July. Check this list to see classes and topics for the month.
- Invite a friend to worship and show them around the building.
- Grab a couple of seats in one of the many conversation spaces throughout the building and catch up with someone you haven't talked to in a while.
However you choose to spend this time of rest and renewal from our usual programming, we hope it's a life-giving and rejuvenating time.

CYF (grades 8-12) trip to the Coyote Drive-In on Thursday
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UCC's high school youth and incoming freshman class will travel to Fort Worth's new drive-in movie theater next Thursday, July 11 to see "Despicable Me 2." Plan to meet at UCC at 7 p.m. to carpool to the drive-in, and bring $10 to cover admission and reserved group parking costs (plus money for any snacks you would like from concessions).
Please RSVP to Jessica at jessica@uccftw.com by noon on Wednesday so she can organize enough drivers. Parents: If you would like to drive/chaperone the event, e-mail Jessica and let her know as well.
